Features: Great for organizing CDs if you don't like huge binders [Posted on 2006-07-11] These CaseLogic boxes are excellent for storing your CD library and protecting it from dust and daamge. I use CaseLogic's PSR sleeves for both storage and the occasional trip in small (50 disc) ring binders. These boxes can hold the wider sleeves (with the binder holes), but it is a tight fit. They would work perfectly with normal paper sleeves, plastic sleeves without binder holes, and even jewel cases (although this last would seem pointless). Sturdy product. My only gripe is that the alphabet dividers they give you are A-D, E-H, etc. They could give you single letters, or sell them separately. In any case, since I have 8 of these things now, I'll just put correcting tape over the "extra" letters on each divider to give me the full alphabet. The boxes also come with a bag of sleeves, so they would also be useful for someone just starting to move over to sleeves from jewel cases.
Nice looking and sturdy media box. [Posted on 2007-06-11] The main reason I purchased this item was because I frequently wind up with a stack of CD's and DVD's that I am too lazy to put back in their binders or case after use. Unfortunately a stack of optical media tends to result in discs that are scratched, dirty, and easy to misplace. Even storing discs on an old spindle can be risky as I discovered after dropping one while moving into a new apartment.
After purchasing this item my desk doesn't have a single loose disc, I casually put them in the box which affords much more protection. Nearly four months later, not one disc has been lost or damaged and it looks nice having this item next to the similarly styled binder sets. My only complaint about this particular item is that the snaps don't line up perfectly with the corners unless you keep the lid on. After some consideration, this gives a warm steampunk/organic feel amid a relatively sterile computing environment.
