Cute But Junk [Posted on 2008-08-21] This is supposed to be a 4GB player, and it shows up on my computer as 4 GB, yet it will hold only 1.5 GB before refusing to accept any more files, claiming "no room left on device". Also, the file browser for selecting media files is the absolute worst thing I have ever seen, it takes forever to locate a file. There is no playlist support of any kind, so unless you just want to hear all your mp3s (or 1.5 GB of them, anyway) with no control over the order they play in, it's a real hassle.
I cannot play videos on this either, as the included software for converting video to the required format (.amv) doesn't work. Naturally, I assumed since this is *called* an mp4 player, I would play mp4 files on it. Nope. It doesn't do that either. I was looking forward to the ebook capability, but again, this was a vain hope -- it reads only text files. If you have any good books in text file format, great, you're all set! Of course, no one does... Text files are pretty much never used for ebooks.
There are just two good things I can say about this player: It's cute, and the screen does a good job rendering photos with decent resolution and surprisingly good contrast. Unfortunately, I did not buy it to look at photos, but for playing music and video.
Well, at least it does actually play music, if rather inflexibly.
Next time I will buy a decent brand name player, maybe Phillips or Sandisk. This was my first and last no-name player. My little $30 reminder that "you get what you pay for". But to not even get the 4 GB of storage advertised is pretty darn low.
waste of money [Posted on 2008-09-13] I bought this and even sent a e-mail on what color I wanted. The box was smashed so I thought that it was done for. But it was in one piece and cheaply made and the wrong color. The screen flickers and you have to shut it off to get it to change to the menu screen for anything. I admit I wanted something cheap but I didn't want it to fall apart either. So don't waste your money on it it's just not worth it.
Junk! a cheap imitation! [Posted on 2008-09-13] no no no no do not buy this product it is a waste of money, it falls apart and is plastic. If you end up buying this product and later end up buying an ipod, you will sooo regret buying this cheap piece of plastic! BUY AN IPOD!!!!!! NOT THIS!!!!
You get what you paid for [Posted on 2008-11-07] Con: Its size. Works like a charm when it works.
Pros: Stop working after 1 hour.
This player works at 1st time when plugs into my computer, I even copy 1 song from my computer to this player, and test it. Works great.
Then it shows an hour glass and stop there after 1 hour when I re-open it, I guess it is a firmware problem or hardware failure.
Not bad, but decieving [Posted on 2008-11-11] I am not saying that this is a bad product, it just isn't what I expected. First, it looks like it will scroll like an ipod, but it doesn't. You have to go through songs one by one, and it is kind of slow. Second, it doesn't have separate sections for your music. They are all put together, so if you have a lot of songs it may take you forever to find the song you want. However, if you are looking for one that you just have a few songs on, it could be the perfect thing for you. If you are looking for something that is pretty much like an ipod, this is probably not for you.
