workable if you don't use the "ctrl" key [Posted on 2006-01-13] My title explains most of it. This keyboard is a great price. It works wonderfully, is light and compact, and has decent key placement. Well, not all the keys are decent. There is one reason, one key, that tanks this keyboard for most people. The only ctrl key is out of place. Just try to do a ctrl-shift to a ctrl-c to a ctrl-v without breaking a finger on this darn keyboard. The horrid little "Fn" key is where the Ctrl key goes and it is a nightmare for a programmer. I'm sure anyone who uses MS Office products much will find it annoying as well. Other than that key, this keyboard isn't too bad.
A similar model of Adesso's is the MCK-91, which has the Ctrl key and the Fn key swapped so that they are in the right place, but it carries a few other problems I just found out. Neither the MCK-91 or MCK-901 are totally worthwile.
So it's basically "pick our poison". No manufacturer seems to have the perfect keyboard. Similar manufacturers, other than Adesso that I know of, are Cherry Corp, Zippy, and SolidTek. Adesso seems to be the best at the moment.
2 stars [Posted on 2007-01-21] We purchased four units for warehouse kiosks at our plant.
The num lock will sometimes activate on these units for no apparent reason. One unit arrived with loose connections, and has an intermittant fault. A bit dissapointed with the quality of this item
Great size, keys could be better [Posted on 2007-03-08] This is the perfect sized keyboard you've been looking for, if you want to get your mouse next to your keyboard on a smallish under-desk keyboard tray. It is a tremendous help ergonomically to have the mouse in the lower, nearer position. However, the keyson this keyboard are small, and have a very light bounce to them, and it is easy to mistype. Adesso could do more to give the keys a distinctive feel, so you really know where your fingers are. But if you are a decent typist, and don't mind running spell-check from time to time, this can work well.
Great size but [Posted on 2008-10-01] I love mini keyboard and used several ones.
This is quiet nice. When I touch it I can hear very good sound.
However, it has some problems.
There are two windows keys; left and right of space bar.
The left one is ok, but the location of right windows key is so bad.
whenever i try to put right-Alt, I touch the windows key.
(And the right-Alt is so small!) Because of this key, space bar become smaller than other mini keyboard. And it has tooooooooooo small backspace and enter, just half size I think.
(Actually all rightside keys are smaller than normal size.)
If you just use this for internet or so, it will be fine.
It occupied less space than normal keyboard.
But if you are a programmer or a heavy type-writer, than aviod this key board. You can meet many typos.
Nice mini keyboard [Posted on 2008-12-10] This is a nice mini keyboard that works well for me.
I needed a mini USB keyboard for my Xbox 360 (it will get used elsewhere in the home but mainly as a keyboard for my 360). This one works great without any issues. The 360 doesn't require PC functionality like the F-keys or control keys but I have used these keys with this keyboard on one of the PC's in my house without any issues.
I love this keyboard - right size, right price.
