Features: Great sound quality, excelent product [Posted on 2008-04-24] This car stereo is exelent. As soon as I installed it in my Hyundai Elantra 2008 car with its original speakers, there was a considerable improvement in the quality of the sound. The only reason I didn't gave it 5 stars is because it needs the Imprint accesory to get it perfectly configured.
Does What it Should [Posted on 2008-08-30] This review can't get too technical, being just a cable. It was long enough to go where ever I wanted it to, (in my case, the center console, and it's run underneath out of the way). Solid connection and sound quality. Cables will always be expensive, but there's nothing we can do about that. I paid $18 which I thought was a lot, but retail something like crutchfield.com was $25 so I can't complain.
Unpleaseant Surprise! [Posted on 2008-09-08] Wow, I can't blv I'm saying this. I'm very dissapointed with Alpine. I dished out the money to buy this cable to use on my new Alpine 9887. I planned to hide my Ipod in my glove compartment and just use the remote and head-unit to operate it.
However, I noticed that when I park my car my ipod remains powered on, which is very problematic, because it means the battery will end up being drained.
I hope Alpine recalls these cables and released a new improved version. I'm going to keep my cable but next time I'll think twice before buying another alpine product and so should you.
full speed connection cable for ipod [Posted on 2008-09-15] Alpine KCE-422i iPod Connection Cable well not much you can say about wire, but it is the right one and my ipod does charge while using it in the car(i've seen where others have a problem with this). your ipod becomes the storage medium only and the reciever does everything else (which is fine)in short, it works great.
Alpine KCE-422i Broken/Loose connection [Posted on 2008-10-26] Alpine KCE-422i iPod Connection Cable arrived quickly and in a plastic pouch. The cable connects somewhat loosely into my Ipod Video and wiggles around. The cable must be pushed upwards slightly to enable stereo output. When it is not being pushed up, only my right speakers work. Broken wire or bad connectors are my guess.
I now have an Ipod with a rubber banded cord wrapped around it to supply constant pressure on the loose connection. Works, but for a simple connector that costs this much I would hope that it least worked all the time.
Connector connects poorly. Perhaps shipping with better packaging would help.
