Not bad sound for the price [Posted on 2008-06-16] This speaker is an improvement from the other smaller speaker, but it still not a Boose. We've a big room with 13 ft ceiling, and this unit delivered okay sound.
Right unit for the price [Posted on 2008-06-16] This is a bargain at 50 bucks. It is simple to use and does what is advertised. The adjustment for different sizes works well and has great sound for a medium sized room. I stuck it in the kitchen for use when cooking. The remote works fine. The unit works well and am very satisfied.
aztrf [Posted on 2008-06-22] Can not beat this product for the price. Sound is clear and crisp. Would recommend this product for others in the hunt for ipod speakers.
Great speakers [Posted on 2008-06-22] I highly recommend this product. It's very good for the price. I orded this based on other good reviews, and I was not disappointed. For small, inexpensive speakers, they have good sound. The bass is very good. My only criticism is that the higher tones could be clearer and crisper. But, this unit is much better than the 'tin can' sound you get from other small, inexpensive speakers. However, I do agree with another review about the quirky volume. When you first turn on the speakers, the volume default is at maximum! To avoid this, turn just your iPod on first, and hit pause. Then, turn on the speakers and turn the speaker volume down. I'd suggest doing this to avoid blowing out your speakers, or your windows.
Great sound, [Posted on 2008-06-22] I had such a problem at first using these speakers. It was not the fault of the speakers but the fact that I had a 3rd generation i-Pod (gasp), actually one of the earlier ones that had the battery problem. When I first used the speakers, the first song played but it did not move to the next song, it just froze. I did not want to listen to Moby all the time, so I had my son try to get it to work (ok, I'm a baby boomer). Well, I wanted the speakers to play my music at my upcoming (big number) birthday party. The i-Pod I have was given to me by my other son who gave up on it due to the short battery life. I mainly used it to just listen to songs and had to recharge it every night.
So, was the problem the speakers, or the old i-Pod? I got someone to try out a more recent i-Pod, actually the i-Touch and it worked wonderfully. I went to the store and bought a new i-Touch for myself for my birthday. I loaded up my mp3 files from WinAmp and wow, the speakers sound great. The remote control works and the albums play through. Ok, so a $50.00 set of speakers precipitated spending another $300.00, but ok, I like music.
Long story, but if you have a late model i-Pod, these speakers are great. If you have a real old one, don't bother, unless you know something I didn't regarding how to get it to work. The end.
