Great item for a great price [Posted on 2008-04-17] These speaker stands and sleek and fairly easy to put together. The base is heavy enough that the stand remains sturdy. I am very happy with this purchase.
Great product for the price [Posted on 2008-05-03] I purchased 2 sets of these for my Polk RM6750 set. After purchasing them I read that they are only rated for up to 2 pound speakers, however the Polks are 4 pounds. After taking them out of the box and assembling them, which was a very easy 5 minute process, I attached the speakers, used the included bolt to attach the speaker to the stand and couldn't be happier! They are very sturdy and nice looking and the wire management works great to conceal the speaker wires. 5 out of 5!
Good Value, Bad Speaker Mounting Design [Posted on 2008-05-15] These stands are probably half the price of stands that you would buy in a place like Circuit City or Best Buy. They are also easy to assemble, look good and are of good quality. However my pet peeve is that the design for mounting the speakers was not thought out very well! My speakers, and I imagine many other types of speakers, could not be mounted on these stands. They included some adhesive tape that will allow you to mount your speakers, but if they designed the mounts properly in the first place you wouldn't need the tape!
Solid Stands [Posted on 2008-05-26] I purchased these stands for Sony Surround Speakers (2lbs). None of the bolts or screws that came with it fit my speakers, I used the double sided tape, and it holds very well. They are solidly built and very sturdy. Definitely a good buy.
Functional with industrial aesthetic [Posted on 2008-06-22] I'll just echo other posters' comments. These things are highly adjustable, and the bases are shaped and weighted to accommodate a satellite speaker that hangs out in the direction opposite the weighting.
Order these stands only if you're handy; the variety of fittings that come with the stands may not be the right kind for your situation. My wife, for example, had to scrounge some extra washers and extra long screws from a friend, then manually deform the the washers with a hammer to secure our new HK TS 18 satellites to the stands.
The rough-textured, dark gray paint on the stands is OK if you don't need or want to have the stands themselves be stylish furniture. If your sense of style demands it, buy some spray paint that matches your decor and go to town.
