I didn't use the case. Sandisk Sansa headsets in general are terrible. My player is fine yet I've gone through 3 headsets and not for neglect the headsets are cheap. I would suggest going with a larger name brand where it's easier to find quality headsets.
This coiled headset is not long enough to put in any pocket. You have to hold the player all the time.
