Too good can sometimes be a bad thing [Posted on 2003-01-08] This video cable is too good for its own good. The picture is soo digital you can see the pixels in the screen when you are watching a DVD. Quite annoying actually, cause everything looks like it is coming off a low quality computer, or like it was stretched from a small screen to a big screen and the # of pixels that make up the picture stayed the same. *Do Not recommend* I actually put my A/B video connection back into the TV and the picture is much better. more real less computer graphic looking.
great cable [Posted on 2004-06-07] No problems at all. and to the person with the prior review a cable cannot the effects notes. more likley they were using a non progressive source to a progressive t.v. (Which is why they were fine with a composite connector.) this cable will work fine, but no cable will fix the problem of connecting two incompatable devices. In cables the quality of the shielding, the quality of the connectors and the workmanship of connection the wires to the connectors are the only issues. A cable losing signal due to a broken wire, or interference from inadaquate shielding would indicate poor quality. I use this cable in a variety of cirumstances and it works fine.
Good for the price, can't tell difference. [Posted on 2007-02-27] I bought this cable to run from my computer video card to an A/V switch, which connects to an older CRT TV. It sends the signal over just fine. I hooked a shorter 6' gold-plated S-video cable just to compare, and I really can't tell much of a difference. I have heard that the signal for S-Video can degrade due to cable material and cable length/distance. I can't tell the difference, but maybe the TV is so old that it has limited image quality. In my particular case I needed the 12' distance, and for $7, it's a good deal.
Belkin 12' S Cable [Posted on 2007-03-09] The ends are comming off this cable doesn't meet the normal Belkin standards.
Works Fine [Posted on 2007-03-20] The cable was purchased to connect a computer to a standard definition TV. I haven't done an exhaustive comparison with other cables, but it's clearly higher quality than composite video and there is no noticeable noise when watching DVDs. The cable seems to be well constructed. Overall, I'm quite happy with it and it was decently priced.
