Customer Reviews:

Not for new nanos [Posted on 2007-03-28]
I bought this for my girl friend this Christmas and it does not even fit her Ipod. I think these are made for older versions of the nano

Good product, with some quirks - Pay attention to 2G vs. 2GB!!! [Posted on 2007-04-19]
This works well for me - my main problem is an occasional squeal in stop and go traffic and the buttons seem exceptionally unresponsive.

The main reason I'm writing this is to address some of the comments I've seen. There is a lot of confusion about 2G and 2GB, I think. This product is NOT compatible with 2G iPod nanos - that means 2nd Generation, not gigs. It IS compatible with 2GB (that IS gigs) 1st generation iPod nanos. That's what I have, and it works well for me. Be careful what you're reading, people seem to be easily confused (I was at first, too, when I was researching my purchase).

Connector not matching [Posted on 2007-05-24]
I can't review a product I can't use however... its connector just doesn't match the new Nanos (mine is the 8gb), hence its marketing is misleading. And I am stuck with it.

Buyer Beware [Posted on 2008-02-03]
This will not fit the new video nano's 8GB. Marketing is misleading. Wal-Mart carries one that fits the new ones.

Great sound, horrible durability. [Posted on 2008-08-12]
My second Belkin TuneBase just broke, in exactly the same way as the first one did, within only a few months of use. There's a spring in the end connecting with the car lighter/power outlet that spontaneously sprang out of both units when I pulled it from the jack. This prevented it from connecting with the power source and made it inoperable. And, the spring couldn't be properly reinstalled. Belkin replaced the first TuneBase at no charge but I'm pretty tired of being stranded without my iPod in the car for weeks at a time every couple of months, so this time I'm going to try a different design instead of seeking a replacement. It's disappointing because this is the best FM transmitter I've tried. Though it plays somewhat quietly, it's a vast improvement over others, including cassette adapters. I've never had problems with static or hissing. I've also always been able to find clear reception no matter where I've traveled, and rarely have had to change the station even when driving hundreds of miles. I'll probably try another Belkin product because of the great sound quality and cross my fingers that it doesn't fall apart like this one is prone to do.
