Th product works as advertised. I'm able to control my IPOD's volume and song from just about anywhere in my house. I would have given it a higher rating but the remote seems to go through batteries when not being used. I have to remove the battery from the remote so it's not dead on the next use.

Product works well. Volume on receiver needs to be very high for iPod to be heard. RF remote actually works quite well.

I was looking for a fairly simple dock to connect my iPod Touch to my home audio system for audio only, and this is just fine for that. It doesn't say it's compatible with the Touch, and for video it's not, but that's not what I wanted it for anyway. The audio hookup is through the red and white phono plugs, which sounds better than the single minijack like in the Apple dock and several others, the remote works fine for pausing or skipping song to song from a good distance (at least 40'--I don't need it to do more). The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that I've already experienced the remote de-linking itself a couple of times--the fix is easy, just unplug the AC to the base for about 10 seconds and replug it, but it's a kind of a pain. If you're looking for an audio only dock for the iPod Touch, this works and sounds great. For video, for right now your only choice is the Apple offering, and it's not as good otherwise.

I have nothing to compare this to, it is my first Docking Station.
What I like:
*The remote works through walls and I can carry the lightweight little remote with me with the included neck strap and change to the next song or pause if I want.
*It was easy to set up and get working
*It sounds pretty good if you connect directly to the stereo instead of the provided cables
What I don't like:
*The thing is very flimsily built and I get the impression it will break, because when you go to look at the menu and look for an album while it's docked you have to hold onto the IPod to keep it from pushing back which would probably break the connector to the bottom of the IPod. Seems like you could accidentally push it too far back and break it very easily.
*If you connect it to your stereo with the provided cable, which allows you to control the volume via the remote, the sound is not very good. You have to turn the volume on your stereo up very high to get normal level, which adds noise to the signal. In order to get acceptable sound you have to connect via your own RCA audio cables to your stereo which then does not allow the volume on the remote to work, you have to use the volume on your stereo instead. No BIG deal but it would be nice if the volume on the remote worked without sacrificing high fidelity sound.
*The volume on mine (when I did have it hooked up so the volume worked from the remote) stuck once and went up way high and I had to go running over to the stereo to turn it down before it blew my speakers or my ears.
This of course can be by-passed by hooking up your RCA cables to your stereo, getting better sound that way, and using the remote for your receiver to control the volume instead of the Dock remote.
For all of the above reasons I may return mine and get a better one - if I can find a better one.
What I really want is one that allows you to see the IPod menu through your tv or on the remote (like the Ipod screen), and if I can find one like that with acceptable reviews I'll buy that instead.
By the way this thing is showing a $149.99 price! Can that be right? I just paid less than $50 for mine! No way it is worth $150, in fact I don't think it's worth more than $50.
IF you don't mind that there's no menu access and you have to connect with RCA cables to get better sound, and then use the volume from your stereo unit remote instead of this remote, then this thing isn't a bad deal if you can get it for under $50-60. See if you can get it with an extended warranty though because you may need it, the thing is built kind of cheap.
