I really like this attachment to the Ipod. The only problems I can mention are: 1. the "Rec" button on the TuneTalk does not work on certain generations of Ipods (like mine), 2. No ability to monitor with headphones the audio quality received, 3. The Auto gain is overly necessary in most cituations, and 4. No ability to mark points of interests (ie. create chapters).
Besides that it has worked great for recording lectures, and by keeping them on the IPod I can listen to lectures immediately after I have recorded.

I've been using the TuneTalk in my 8th grade classroom for several months now and it is a useful way of recording students' reactions or thoughts. I can use those sound clips in PowerPoints or other projects. I'm taking it with us on our class trip to New York next month so kids can record their reactions to what we see - then I can use those soundbites to help prepare NEXT year's kids before THEY go on the same trip.
It is easy to use - not too many bells or whistles and iPods are familiar, non-threatening technology for the students. I'd really recommend TuneTalk for use in a classroom.
Excellent voice recorder [Posted on 2008-06-01]
I bought this product to collect oral histories on my iPod Classic. While some of the features are not compatible with this newer-generation iPod (check Belkin's specifications carefully to make sure it has what you need) it is a very portable and unobtrusive way to record interviews. I would buy it again.

I bought this recorder module for the purpose of recording classes at a music symposium I attended this month. There were 5 daily classes from 9:00 - 5:30. I was surprised on the first day to see the iPod shut down halfway through the first class with a drained battery. I assumed that I hadn't charged the iPod fully, plugged it in during dinner and prepared for the next day. Sure enough, after less than 2 hours my battery was dead again. I went out during dinner and purchased an Olympus solid-state recorder which lasted the final 3 days on a single AAA battery, including recording all the evening sessions typically lasting into the wee hours of the morning.
If you have short things to record, this is a nice option, but it's hard to justify when my Olympus recorder weighs LESS and lasts FAR longer with no hard drive noise. My only complaint about the Olympus is that it records in WMA format which needs to be converted to play on iTunes.
