this is perfect for a car because of its retractability. the dock connection seems kinda cheap/hollow but it may turn out to be fine.

Does what it is supposed to do and at a great price. The retractible gadget in the middle of the cable works great. It allows the cable to lengthen and lock at different positions. When you are done you just shorten the cable and put in the glove box. Connects to my Audio AUX port with no issues.

After searching countless mall kiosks and Apple stores for a cable like this to plug into my car's aux input I finally found this on Amazon. It provides better sound quality than using a male-male 3.5mm cable and I think it doesn't use as much battery power since it doesn't require the iPod's volume to be on while using it. Additional bonus is that it's got an adjustable length so you don't have extra cable hanging around your car. For under $10 it can't be beat.
