An Amazing Pot ;-) !! [Posted on 2008-12-08] Great Stockpot! I own several Calphalon products and this is now definitely on my favorite list. Its very sturdy and the lids fits amazingly(some lids typically do not) I love to use it to feed my Army of friends and family, also it being so big its actually pretty easy to clean. Once again to sum it up, I LOVE THIS POT! ;-)
Noisy Pot [Posted on 2008-12-08] I used this for the first time the other night to boil some pasta. The pot did a nice job but it's noisy when the liquid is at a rolling boil. Also, pay attention to the height. if you don't have an extra deep sink or an adjustable faucet, you may find it a little difficult to wash.
Great stock pot [Posted on 2008-12-12] I've never had a better stock pot and doubt this one will spring a leak like my last! Easy to clean and durable. No home should be without one.
very good stockpot [Posted on 2008-12-16] I read a lot of reviews before I finally purchased this product. I didn't have anything bigger than a 6-qt pot so I had to borrow a friend's Calphalon hard anodized stockpot to cook for a party. I was extremely satisfied with it so I decided to get one for myself. I got it during the kitchen sale and it was promptly delivered.
It is a very good stockpot. The handles are wide, positioned well, and don't get too hot. It is easy to hand wash except that if you have a shallow kitchen sink it might be too hard to move around. Wash it in the utility sink instead.
I gave it 4 stars because I have a problem with the flat lid. Whenever I lift the lid the condensation on the underside of the lid runs off in all directions. I don't get this problem with domed lids. With domed lids, the condensation runs down the middle when you tilt the lid open. No spills, so steam burns. I will probably use a different lid for this pot.
not as thought [Posted on 2008-12-27] This is a very thin pot not what I thought. The lid does not fit properly.
