i, too, own a 17" widescreen toshiba and have been looking high and low for an affordable (i don't want to spend a bunch of money on a bag i may use a couple of times a year) yet efficient bag for my laptop. what a relief it was to find this bag! antonline shipped it super fast(i ordered on sun and i got it on wed and no, i don't work for them). my laptop fits in snugly and there is a velcro strap inside to make sure it doesn't move around. there is also a padded insert you can use to make it a smaller space for smaller computers.
the outside of the case is a pretty firm with the zipper on the top of the case with two pulls. there's padding around the entire perimiter and on both sides so you know your computer is protected. there is a short netted pocket on the inside along with three center pockets that would be ideal for discs. there is also a large flat pocket that would be ideal for paperwork.
moving to the outside of the case...on the bottom side there is one large pocket that has a single center velcro closure. the other side (top) has a flap pocket that has two velcro closures. this pocket is an accordian-type that opens to reveal three netted pockets: ipod, palm and digital camera (there are pics there on the fabric label to indicate). there is a small net opening for batteries(disposable), two pen elastics, and elastic for something bigger than a pen (?) and an elastic space for an id(?). they also added in a little caribiner to hook your keys onto. this accordian pocket is where you'd have to put your cords.
above the flapped pocket there is one last little pocket for you to slip your cell into so it is easily accessible.
the carry handle is solid and comfortable and this case also comes with an adjustable padded shoulder strap with swivel hooks, so you don't have to worry about the strap getting tangled up.
overall, this case makes me actually want to take my laptop places and i can't wait to use it!

I recently purchased a Dell 17 inch widescreen laptop, and was unable to find a case for it in local stores. Amazon had a good selection, but I am happy I chose this one. It easily holds my laptop, and was convenient when traveling. It has enough pockets to hold the accessories I have (mouse, AC adapter, camera) with slots for CD/DVDs, and it was easy to access. This case is good for the price and is very protective of my laptop. I wish it had more pocket area for briefs or note pads, but you certainly can't beat the value. If you are looking for a simple case to hold and protect your computer, then this is what you want, but if you are looking for a more professional look with extra space for documents, then I suggest spending a little more money.

This bag is awesome, it has little visual labels inside to show you what typicaly goes in each compartment... very organized. Fits my 17" HP great.

Even though it's slim (which it really is), it manages to hold all of our electronics & cables. It fits our 17" HP nicely, and secures the notebook. There is an included piece that will adapt it to fit a 15" notebook. The stitching around the case you can tell is high quality. This is a nice case for the money.
