Purchased the itouch 16 and it does not come with an AC power cord. No big deal as they are cost saving and since this is NOT the iphone, a charger is not mandatory. I needed a converter for USB to AC that folds in on itself and was cheap. This is it. It does just that and also looks good and has a small green charging light that shows power is flowing. Amazon has it with free shipping if you can "piggy back" with another free shipping item.

I successfully charged my mp3 player with this, and it worked fine. The adapter is pretty light, not to big, and the plug folds down which is quite convenient because it turns the adapter into a perfect rectangle, which is easier to carry. The adapter takes voltage from 90-264, volts, so it would work fine with an adapter to use in a country with different voltage outlets. Overall, it functions well and I have no problems with it.

It cannot deliver 1A but about 200mA [Posted on 2008-07-02]
I bought that because it specifies 1A output current and other don't. However, I did some measurement myself. The no load output voltage is about 5.4V. The voltage drops down to about 4.8V for 200mA load. I didn't try 1A since I don't know if there is any output short-circuit protection.
