comments for coby mp3 player [Posted on 2008-06-22] Considering who I had in mind for this mp3 player, it had to be a great one. Good condition, so that a little kid could handle it without any worries about it falling apart when he was rough-housing. And it is just that. It's a great mp3 player. I would definitely buy another one if I needed to.
Alot of features for the money [Posted on 2008-06-26] I've had no problems with this little MP3 player. Plenty of room for lots of tunes, and the FM tuner has surprisingly good range. All devices like this use up alot of battery juice. Most batteries recover a bit of power when the unit is shut down and later turned on. But I listened many hours before I had to replace the battery. Rechargables will definately make this work for you. Arranging songs can't really be done on the unit, but must be done on your desktop computer, though I still have trouble getting them where I want. But still, I managed to get this here for $18, so it was well worth the money.
Coby MP-C885 1 GB Flash mp3 [Posted on 2008-06-28] The second one worked. Coby help line really wasn't familiar with MAC computers. There only suggestion was send it back. My son has a different Coby model that just like this one doesn't recover space when you remove songs with a MAC - does with a PC. Coby apparently thinks iTunes is a fad. The manual is no help for MAC users.
Liked it but died [Posted on 2008-06-29] USB interface failed within 30 days. (Tested on two computers.) Technically not dead, but practically so.
Works OK but USB broke [Posted on 2008-07-04] I bought this player so I could listen to music while jogging. For that purpose it has worked fine. Unfortunately the USB interface stopped working after about a month. In other words it still plays music but I am no longer able to put any new music on it. Others have mentioned this as well so my advice is to make sure you copy over all the music you want early on.
