Customer Reviews:

Works good for me, great features [Posted on 2008-03-10]
Looking at the other reviews, I guess quality control isn't perfect for Coby, so if you happen to get a lemon you're going to have some fun exchanging them until you get a good one. I got a good one first go, though, and it's worked flawlessly. Brilliant screen with a great resolution and nice colors, a well-designed user interface (though it'd be nice to switch more easily between shuffle and play-through), and a rich assortment of features that don't get in the way when you just want to play some tunes.

The player feels rugged, weighs practically nothing, and runs for an incredible amount of time on one battery -- though since it just uses a AAA, even if it runs out while you're on the road, you can fill 'er up at any store.

One minor flaw: in Windows XP it won't show as a simple drive letter, but instead as a Media Player device. I guess that's supposed to be better, but all it did for me was make it harder to load stuff onto it. You can't rename folders on the device, for instance; you have to set things up how you want them named somewhere else and then copy the whole lot over. Plus you can't access files on the device from inside most software.

One minor improvement would be support for .m3u playlists, but since you can just drop stuff into folders and then play a single folder or all folders, it's no big deal. If they did offer playlist support, I would use that instead of shuffle; as on most devices, shuffle won't guarantee to play everything once before playing anything twice, or let you know when you're done, but it's good enough, so this is a very minor shortfall.

Overall, though, this is ideal for use on an exercise bike, on a bus or plane, or anywhere else on the go. If you happen to get a lemon, return it. You've got a warranty, use it!

Coby MP-C886 MP3 Player with 1 GB Flash Memory, FM Radio & USB Drive  [Posted on 2008-03-18]
I have been very happy with my Coby MP-C886 MP3 Player with 1 GB Flash Memory, FM Radio & USB Drive. I received it only a few days after purchasing it! Very easy to use! I would highly recommend this customers.

excellent product [Posted on 2008-03-26]
I have used this mp3 player quit a lot. I have not had any problems with it. I read some reviews that said it was difficult to download songs to this specific unit and that the unit was cheap. I have not experienced any of these issues. I just plugged it in and downloaded music. I take this thing hunting, fishing, and working out without any problems. I do wish it had a belt clip or some kind of clip. Other than that, it is perfect. I recommend this item to everyone.

pros: this device is small as well as easy to use. it holds a lot of music. i just bought it for the gym and found myself using it all the time. cons: the ear buds cord could be longer

MP3 Player [Posted on 2008-04-28]
I bought the Coby MP3 player because it is compatible with my Library's downloadable audio book system. The iPod is not compatible and costs a lot more anyway. The Coby costs the same as a memory stick without playing capabilities. The sound quality of the player is great and the FM radio works fine too. I have not tried out the recorder yet.
