This purchase was one made after much research, and in spite of the reviews touting an overly sensitive touch interface and poor FM reception (among other things) I decided to purchase regardless... and I've never been more satisfied with a digital music player! (out of the several I've owned and used over the years)
First, the playback is clear and vibrant. The EQ settings offer endless tweakability. Heck, the entire player offers endless tweakability. For a device this small, the Radio playback is remarkable, and effortless to set presets. I really enjoy the ability to form a playlist and delete files within the user interface. The screen is big enough for what it does, and the battery life is phenomenal! I used it for a week consistently without having to charge.
The greatest cons stem from functions beyond what I'd deem as necessary in a music player: viewing photos is painfully slow (takes about 4 - 5 seconds to load a single image) and I haven't even bothered to try and watch a video on the tiny screen. Instant eye-strain.
If you're looking for something to /play music/, then this is your best bet. If you'd like to carry your entire entertainment center with you in your pocket, then I'd suggest something else.

As an audiophile of many years, I'm usually bitten by any new audio technology. I tend to not follow the crowd into many gadgets, and MP3 players are included. Staying away from the iPod obsession, I purchased an iAudio U2 a few years back and totally enjoyed it!! Now, with experiencing the newer iAudio 7, have to admit it blows me away!!! There is not one person that will convince me the 'NANO' is better, no way!! This nicely designed player has everything I could possibly want, and will enjoy for a long time!! Go out and buy yourself one......you'll love it!!!!!!!

I bought this to use primarily as a music player about a year ago, and it has served me reliably the whole time. It's a little blocky, sure, not so much so that I notice it when it's in my pocket. It has been durable and responsive, operating well despite a few drops to the floor, and the battery life and sound quality are outstanding. The interface is intuitive, and there is an obvious "hold" switch, both in contrast to what some reviews led me to believe.
I don't think this player deserves 5 stars, though. It occasionally translates songs' titles to Chinese or Korean characters - though this only affects the titles in the library, they display normally once the song is playing. The controls seems to occasionally lose their sensitivity, such that I can't pause or unpause songs. Also, it is sometimes a struggle to wrestle the player's library into order. Overall, these problems are pretty minor, this is a great little player, and I'd recommend it to anyone.

I was looking for a small player to excercise with and this was it! My Blackberry charger also charges this player so I did not need to buy a charger. The first thing I did was download the latest firmware (1.17). Be aware! There are two files to copy over. Make sure you get both files. One is for the graphics. After the firmware update, the touch sensitivity is perfect. It is very easy to get used to the touch controls. One thing I did order before the iAudio 7 was a great carrying case made by NoreveUSA. It is really nice hand sewn leather and has all the holes for the controls. It also comes with a belt clip you can add on for exercising!

I have copied over about 3GB worth of songs and have so much space left over. The best feature I like is that you can plug in the iAudio 7 to your PC and it becomes like another drive and you can create folders and copy music directly over. You can also do audio books and bookmark them. There are directions on bookmarking in the text section on the unit.
The sound is amazing and the graphics are really clear. I do not use the picture or video part because of the small size. I had been turning the hold button on whenever I exercised, but with the new leather case, I do not need to turn the hold switch on and can easily change the controls while I am exercising. The battery life on mine is about 50 hours before recharging. Amazing. This is the other reason I bought this device.
Overall, this is the best MP3 player I have ever owned.

I have had multiple mp3 players including iPod 4th gen, iPod classic and iPod touch and this little gem destroys them when it comes to audio. It's very true it's not really a video watching unit nor does it have other extras of the iPod, but when it comes to the audio quality this player goes above and beyond iPods. The size (and price!) is right as well :-). It's nice to not have a bulky player.
I'm primarily a Linux user and the iAUDIO7 works great with it (Fedora 9 and 10) via mass storage device. It also does MTP if you like that better.
Bottom line, if you're looking for audio quality in your music player the iAUDIO7 is one of your best choices. If you're looking for a device for videos, music, photos and photos but not a master of any of them, look elsewhere.
