Total disappointment in Zen Neeon iPod knockoff [Posted on 2006-09-11] I bought this product at WalMart for the FM radio feature and it simply doesn't work. I feel totally taken for more than I've ever paid for a radio. I don't know how to go about getting my money back but I think I should get a refund since it doesn't work. I would give it a NO STAR rating if it was offered as a selection.
Great MP3 player [Posted on 2006-09-23] I have the ZEN NEON for 3 days now and it works great. I used it to listen to MP3 files which are downloaded from my computer. Creative S/W works good too, very user friendly. Have to be careful using the control wheel, it take time to response to each command. It take me few hours to get used to it, and after that it works everytime. The ZEN NEON has a voice recorder and a line-in jack for external audio recording that the Ipod does not have. Only one complain is the headphone jack is not making good contact with the plug, I have to move it around to find a good position to have sound in both Left and Right channels...I'm happy with the ZEN NEON.
The best mp3 player I've owned [Posted on 2006-10-31] I read all the other reviews and I'm glad I have not had the same problems. I keep mine in the soft bag and have never had a problem with it. true, you have to give it time to switch through the songs when using the wheel, but its nothing major. This is the third player i have owned, all the others died on me within a couple months, this one I've had for almost a year and its still going strong.
Pretty good experience [Posted on 2006-11-28] I have had this player for a year and a half and have had an overall good experience (I actually have the older 5 gb model). I use the drag and drop method through the windows and organize it in folders. It has several repeat options including repeat folder, play folder once, repeat track, shuffle folder and shuffle entire player. It is easy to navigate and read.
Now to the problems: in the beginning I found the scroll wheel hard to use, now it's alright. I guess I have gotten used to it. The main problem I have is mentioned in one of the other reviews, I have a hard time with the headphone jack. This didn't start til a few months ago (about the time my warranty ran out). I often have to move the headphones around to find just the right spot. If it is in the wrong spot, it will either sound wrong or it will pause the music, which at times gets very annoying.
Other than that, no problems. I wish it had a sleep timer on it, but instead I use the function where it plays through a folder until it's done and then after a few minutes it shuts off automatically.
Satisfied Customer [Posted on 2007-07-21] I have had the Zen Neeon for some considerable time now and the MP3 player works extremely well. The wheel control takes a little getting used to and a search feature would be very useful. So you have to organize your songs in folders before up loading. The best way to load I have found is by dragging and dropping directly from Windows.
