So why only 4 stars then? Well first the good:
..Easy to use, quick menus and the buttons easy to navigate.
..Crisp video output, clear and smooth
..Great battery life for what it does
..Wonderful audio output
And the poor:
..SD card does not intergrate fully; cannot make a playlist off it
..Player does not remember your place in a video; you have to go back and fast forward
..VERY susceptable to scratches and dust.
I highly recommend you get two things when you buy this unit, the creative silicon skin pack (you can get that here at a good price) and then go to [...] and get the creative invisishield protector for the screen. You will not be dissapointed and it truly does what it states.
I use the 2 gig model as my main function is for video, so those get loaded on SD cards. The 2 gig part amply holds the songs i like.

Excelllent portable media device. Easy to navigate and view. For memory card SD/SDHC use, it would be nice if the navigation works the same as the internal memory, but it is not as robust. Nevertheless, the memory card expansion is very useful feature.

This product is great... when the screen works. I had it for like 2 weeks before the screen started turning all white. It is apparently a problem with the newest operating system.

The Zen is a beautiful looking media player, but unfortunately it just doesn't work. It freezes constantly. I can get it to start playing music and by the second or third song, it freezes. I've tried re-setting, re-formatting, updating the firmware... all to no avail. I'm very disappointed, but in going to Creative's website for support, I see that MANY people are having the same problem. What product will I get to replace the Zen? I have no idea, right now I am just very disappointed. I would highly suggest purchasing a different brand of media player.

The player plays great. Pros. It is easy to transfer stuff to. I have listen to Audio books, Music, Tv show and veiwed pictures using it. The sound is great and you can stop it and pick up right where you left off. Also has an SD card slot you you can have even more disk space. The cons might seem like as lot but I really do like this player. The battery life is only about 3 to 4 hours watching video. When using the SD slot your system doesn't pick it up as a file in the system unless you import it meaning you can't book mark anything on the SD card. Some times system hangs up when you are disconnectiong from the computer.Converting video takes awhile plus system must be connected to the computer to start converting file once strated you can remove it. also I would make sure you buy the protective case that they sell. They should have given you one with it I felt. So if your looking for a cheap version of an Video Ipod then this way to go. Wouldn't reccomend it for younger kids not as durable as the IPOD.
