Mostly PROs with a CON or two.... [Posted on 2008-03-24] As one of the few cases out there for the Creative Zen W 60GB, it is a nice case with some PROs and a few minor CONs. So many of the case descriptions say they are for the 30GB only.
While my first impression was not good - the case smelled like petroleum or some sort of fuel right out of the package - I let it air out a few days and it solved the problem.
The case does fit the Zen W 60GB well. But, the one "slot" that is difficult to access is the headphones connection; i.e. the one you use the most. The other slots (compact flash, mini-USB, operational buttons, etc.) are all easily accessed. To put in your headphones or audio jack, you have to pull on the cover a bit. I plan on making a small cut in the case to ease the issue of getting to the headphone jack. Still, the Zen W 60GB fits very securely into the case so there is no need for a strap or Velcro to hold it in.
One very nice feature is that you can unsnap the strap, pull it around and snap it to the front of the case creating a viewing stand. It works great on an airplane tray table and the angle of the viewing stand is just right for that use. A small downside here is the screen protector is pretty shiny so you have to angle a bit (or close the plane window shade) to eliminate any reflections. In most situations, this is easily taken care of but would be better to use a less reflective protector for future models.
Since I cracked the screen on my Zen W when I did not have a case, it was very important to find a good case. I hate to admit I have dropped the Zen W a few times in this case and it has held up well with no scratches on the case and no damage to the body. While the case is not padded, it at least takes the initial brunt of a short fall like off the counter or the plane tray table when I stand up with the headphones still on...lol!
With few real options, (I've only seen three cases ever for the 60G) this one protects from minor drops, gives you a nice stand and holds the Zen W 60GB well. Overall, I'd buy it again.
Pretty good [Posted on 2008-04-29] Good leathercase for the Zen Vision W. I especially looked for one with a belt clip an this seemed the best. It's a robust, stylish leathercase with space for plasticcards. One thing that be improved is if the belt clip was placed a little bit higher, it would give you a better stability.
Perfect [Posted on 2008-06-05] This is just what i needed...
No more worrying about dropping it, or even holding my Zen while listening to it since it has a handy belt clip as well! I'm a happy customer and for only $12 - not bad.
the Elusive Zen Vision W leather case with clip [Posted on 2008-06-09] Purchased 1 month ago for my 16 year old daughter's birthday and used daily. Usually kept in her purse or backpack then worn on her pants or belt when in use. This product met or exceeded expectations. The fit is perfect. The quality of leather is good. The plastic cover for the viewing screen is clear and durable. The snap closure works very well even as a swival and the clip was a pure necessity that performs beautifully. Most important protects the expensive mp3 and the price was right. The case will not function as a stand for viewing. Not a big drawback when all the other features are considered.Go for it you'll be glad you did!Creative Zen Vision W 30GB 60GB Leather Case with Belt ClipThank you Vizu your performance as a seller also comes highly recommended.
Zen Leather Case [Posted on 2008-08-28] The case is very sturdy. It feels soft not hard like plastic. It looks expensive. Worth every penny I paid for it. It has a side opening so one can charge the Zen without taking it out of the case. It also has two pockets to keep music gift cards in. Great case!
