Customer Reviews:

Shielding not adequate [Posted on 2006-10-11]
I was hoping these shielded speakers would cut out cell phone interference, but if my phone is closer than about 18 inches, i.e., on the desk, I get the annoying noises from the satellite speakers. On the plus side, a separate bass level control on the right satellite (along with master volume and headphone jack) is very convenient and critical in my opinion to acheiving the right balance at the right volume. I lowered the highest trebel levels on my iTunes equalizer, and I think the resulting sound is fine for a PC system. However, I'm returning mine and getting a system with better shielding.

If you have a Notebook P.C, these are a must have... [Posted on 2007-03-02]
I've had a Compaq Notebook for about six months now, and I am really happy with the computer as a whole. The worst feature of my computer is definitely the integrated Altec-Lansing speakers. No matter how much I fiddled with the equalizer in iTunes, I just couldn't get the sound right, so I've been compelled to listen to my music with headphones.
While in Circuit City, I happened upon these speakers and thought they must have been priced wrong, (at $35 bucks). So I decided to give them a try.
First; the speakers look nice. The black and silver accents match well with my notebook, and look like they could have come bundled with the computer.
Second; they were incredibly easy to hook up. Sometimes speakers can be needlessly complicated, but with only three things to plug in, they were up and running nicely.
Third: The sound quality is FAR superior to the Altec-Lansing factory speakers. Notebook computers are great if portability is important to you, but you do sacrifice a lot of quality for convenience. Sound quality is one of the biggies. After listening to my albums on these speakers for a while, I realized what I had been missing. The bass is deep and rumbling; (Great for gaming), and the overall sound quality was very nice. If you are planning on purchasing these speakers and are using iTunes, I recommend setting the equalizer to VOCAL BOOSTER and turning the bass knob about half way up. I tried a lot of configurations, and that seemed to sound the best.
Fourth; Cheap, cheap, cheap!
Great buy. WAY worth the money. Especially if you've got a notebook.

Good Price, bad Outcome. [Posted on 2007-03-06]
Cyber Acoustics 3 speaker system has a definite appeal and it's physical appearence is as tempting as its low price. The style is great. The sound is mediocre. The potential risk, however, is not worth the price. A few days afer my purchase of the Cyber Acoustic's CA- 3095 system, the keyboard and track pad on my macbook completely shut down. I had to call tech support and pull out the battery and reset the power management system. After I fixed my computer, I looked down and remebered that there is a warning sticker on the back of their subwoofer explaing that it is not magnetically sheilded and may cause damage to electronics. Although I have no definitive proof as to whether or not this was the reason for my computer malfuntion,(which does not matter either way since Cyber Acoustics makes it clear that they are not responsible for any damage) there was no choice for me as to whether or not a $30 speaker was worth risking the $1200 notebook I am currently using.

So overall, the Cyber Acoustic CA-3095 speaker system is a potentially decent buy. If you are not afraid electronic damage/interference and are alright with the C+ sound quality, then by all means this is for you. But if you are anything like me, you are better off to spend a little bit more and keep your PC or Mac out of harms way.

Wow! What great speakers! [Posted on 2007-04-04]
I just bought these speakers, and they are top quality. They aren't like $500 Bose top quality, but they are incredible for their price. The subwoofer works really well, and the speakers have really clear sound. I have these hooked up to my iBook, and I would not be suprised if they had really clear sound on my Gamecube or Xbox. These speakers are worth the price.
Please do take notice that the subwoofer does not have a magnetic field thingy around it. So if you have the subwoofer sitting beside your $1,200 laptop, switch the position of the subwoofer, or your computer will really mess up. Set it on the floor. This does not affect how good the sound is, it just means that your chances of loosing a valubale system are higher. I had to comment on another guy's review because he was saying how much his computer messed up because he had the subwoofer beside it. Ya, people, just please read the warnings. And be careful.
Anyway, above all, these speakers are really good. I was really suprised at how fantastic these work. If you have $200 to spend on speakers, buy Bose; but if you don't have that much, buy these, cause you won't regret it. Good quality speakers.

Great quality, great design [Posted on 2007-06-28]
Seriously, when I first saw them in Staples, without a display model, the box shoved into a corner, and the incredibly decent price tag, I was skeptical. But this purchase turned out to be simply awesome.

Really, though, these speakers are not meant to... project, I guess you could say. Turning the volume up too high results in some distortion. So really, these are meant for private listening from just several feet away.

Desktop speakers, basically. That's their intent, so keep that in mind.

The quality, though, is simply amazing. Very clear and crisp. And the woofer has a separate volume control next to the master volume on the right speaker.

The design is really nice. It's sleak and stylish, but still very subtle. I particularly like the bright blue LEDs on the tops of the base of each speaker. They really stand out in the dark.

The woofer is perfect for the size of its speakers, and it's small enough that it doesn't take up too much room.

However, a generous price tag often comes with some flaw that makes up for it. This is no exception. These speakers are so cheap because there's somewhat of a lack in magnetic shielding in the woofer, enough to warrant a warning label. Basically it's meant to go under your desk, away from your tower, CDs, etc. Really, though, I had mine sitting right on top of my desk near pretty much everything it could've damaged, even with CDs piled on top of it, for months before I even noticed the warning label. Nothing ever got damaged.

They've got some life in them too. I've had these for over two years and they're still playing strong and clear.

In short, they're outstanding for their price, and the woofer's supposed lack in magnetic shielding is certainly acceptable if you use a little care.
