Better than ipod [Posted on 2006-02-28]
Everybody should buy a Dell rather than the very expensive Ipods. You get 30 GB for only $250, very cheap compared to the Ipod. I have had mine for about a year now and nothing has gone wrong with it, works perfectly fine. I never leave home without it, I recommend this to anyone who wants a large GB storage mp3 player for a cheap price.

Too Many Problems [Posted on 2006-05-28]
I bought a version of this for my 15 year old son about a year ago. We bought the Dell Pocket DJ and there has been problem after problem with it. When the first one arriaved, the volume could not ajust. It stayed on one value, which only dogs could hear. The second one we got worked for a while and we thought it was ok, but then later, the play button did not work. We sent that in to get a new one, only to find out they discontinued it, and any one we got for fixing would be refurbished. Ok, fine. The third one could not hold it's charge. The battery did not last as long as it should. My son would turn it off at night, and in the morning the battery would be dead. The fourth one we got was ok for a while. Then, one day the songs just stopped tranfering from the computer to the mp3 player. We went to tech support. It said to enter the serial code. It said it was located under the barcode. Only one problem, the barcode and everything on that sticker had been wiped after repeated use. We could not get tech support for it. I decided to call customer serivce and ask how to get tech support without a serial number. All tha lady did was give us the number for tech support. No help at all. Later on the tranfering worked, but for a month it did not. My adivce :don't buy any Dell DJ

At First, You'll Love It...But, Beware There After!  [Posted on 2006-05-29]
Though this review is based on the Dell Pocket DJ, a few of my friends had similar complaints about this product, as well.

When I first bought this product a year ago, it was a pleasure using it. I felt special because no one else had one, as most people were going "goo-goo, ga-ga" over the iPods.

Well, the honey moon came to an end just about six months into ownership.

PROBLEMS & ISSUES:
1) The bottons started sticking
2) After plugging the device into my computer to rip music, it crashed the computer twice.
3) The device froze on me several times
4) The head phones went out on me; had to replace them.
5) The "Juke Box" software, though easy to use, stopped syncing to the device. I had to end up using Windows Media to sync.

better than a IPOD [Posted on 2006-10-14]
Ive had the Dell DJ30 for about a year and a half and I love it. It has not given me any problems and easy to load songs. It holds all my favorite songs and more. it is a bit bulky but manageable. My friend let me borrow his IPOD for a week and I strongly prefer the Dell DJ

Exellent Mp3 player !!! [Posted on 2007-03-28]
This Player is great, easy to use, easy to upload mp3, create playlists, and you can connect with all computers you want, just install the small driver ones and have access to all your music and for sharing. Battery life is great, upgrade firmware with "play it for sure" work great.
The sound Quality is excellent, the bass, the high and low tones also, great.
