So-So [Posted on 2008-05-27] They sound OK. The real problem is the stupid extension cord. Why have one??? It makes no sense to stick a huge connector in teh middle of a headphone cord. It only adds extra weight to the cord and it's ugly.
They could have made the first segment longer so that most people won't need to use the extension.
Improved bass over the ipod headphones [Posted on 2008-05-28] I was expecting a great improvement on the sound quality over the ipod headphones, the only big improvement I hear is the bass. I really get annoyed with the extension cord, the weight of it does pull down the earpiece. Overall good but not what I was expecting.
Best by far [Posted on 2008-06-09] These earphones are simply great. If you don't insert them properly or use the right interchangeable piece you will NEVER experience it's true potential. I bought two of them within two week; my wife tried the first pair on and gave me an ultimatum (let her keep them or love myself...) I chose the former...
Nice clarity [Posted on 2008-06-12] These are nice phones. They are built solid for their size. They are comfortable, block out noise, and have wide frequency range that is fairly flat across the whole range. I use them when I go out bicycling and they block out most outside noise. I do get some wind noise but it is at a tolerable level.
The bass is good when I angle speaker part upward when I insert it into my ear canal. You might have to play around with the angle to get the best sound. These phones have great sound clarity and low distortion. After reading different reviews, I picked these over the Shure line because the sound quality from the Denon's is just as good maybe better. Plus the price is alot nicer. I like them and would recommend them without hesitation to any friend.
No Bass [Posted on 2008-06-18] The cheapos that came with my Zune sound better. The Denon's sound is thin and tinny. I kept cramming them farther into my ears to try to get some low end. I listen to jazz and rock, not hip-hop or anything bass-intense, but the low end is just not there and the treble is shrill. After a half-hour, I couldn't take anymore. Wanna buy mine? They're on eBay.
