Not Even Meets the Expectation with Quick Discharge [Posted on 2008-03-19] I bought new batteries and the first use did not last long. I thought it could be discharged by shelf time, so I fully recharged them, and the second use was even more disappointed. After about 10 shots, the Canon camera showed a low battery sign for the two AA batteries it used. Is this a brand of Duracell or Trashcell? Please also remember it has only 100 times rechargeable cycle, comparing to the regular NiMH's 1000 times.
Busted again, Duracell. Just to mention, in my home, the other non brand rechargeable batteries performed better than Ducecell ones.
Do not hold charge!!! [Posted on 2008-04-24] Having successfully used Energizer and Panasonic rechargeables I tried these because Duracell is supposed to be good and the price was competitive.
However they do not seem to last more than a dozen or so recharge/discharge cycles before they seem to stop holding a charge. i.e. I charge them and put them in my camera and can take just a few shots and they are done. If I let them sit a week or two after charging and then use them they are flat - i.e. they appear to discharge themselves when they are just sitting on the shelf.
Really disappointed Duracel - your alkaline batteries may be good but these are a BIG WASTE OF MONEY!!!
reliable, long life batteries [Posted on 2008-05-05] Have been using the first set of 4 (out of 8) batteries.
Charged in about 5 hours. Still going strong after more than 200 pictures over the last month.
In fact they are so good that I did not need to charge and use the second set. Will try that next weekend for a long trip.
BTW, My previous set of 4 duracell batteries lasted almost 3 years.
Overall, works as promised and the price is reasonable.
Would definitely buy again.
Good, just use them quick! [Posted on 2008-08-06] I have a ton of 2200 and 2500 mAh Energizers laying around to power various wireless devices, cameras and photo equipment, GPS receivers, etc.
I found the Duracell 2650 mAh batteries several months ago, and of course I had to get them, because I'm a gadget geek and that's how I roll. :-P
Anyway, I haven't had any problems at all with how long these batteries last on a charge -- they've worked great for me when I've used them.
That said, I don't use them as much as the Energizers because I have to charge them IMMEDIATELY before using them. If I let them sit for 24 to 36 hours after being charged, they're dead and need to be recharged again. It's not a one-time deal or anything -- this is consistent behavior since the day I bought them.
If I'm taking pictures at a wedding or something where I know my shooting schedule, then this is fine. Grab the batteries out of the charger on the way out the door, load them into the flash gun, and shoot all night without any worries.
But if I'm on a trip and I don't know how long it'll be before I use them, I have to bring the Energizers because I know that whenever I'm ready, they'll be charged. I can't run the risk of getting on location and realizing that I can't use the flash because the batteries discharged themselves overnight.
Duracell NiMH Battries are terrible... [Posted on 2008-09-22] I have purchase several set of Duracell NiMH batteries and with the exception of the first set the battery life has been terrible. They do not hold a charge, even after charger indicates they are at full charge. I bought the Walmart no name brand at the same time and this past weekend the Duracell took 10 pictures with my SLR digital and the Walmart battries took 350, with 1/3 using a flash. I use a powerex charger at the lowest setting to charge my battries. When I called Duracell to complain I was told that you could only use their brand of charger. I laughed at the lady when she tried to tell me that their $12 chargers would do a great job charging. I think this is the third set I have had issues with. I have learned my lesson and will stay away from this brand in the future.
