Not for everybody [Posted on 2008-03-06] i have no idea why people are praising this product so much. i tried using it after all these great reviews to do studying at the gym after working out. well, at home (which is REALLY quiet) it hums the sound of refrigirator, ok. but in the gym i did not hear any difference whatsoever. music in the gym is by NO means loud. it is very easy and you can even whisper (it is a reception area that is shared by a hotel, so really well kept and quiet environment - only after 3 hours or so of studying I start listening to music, not focusing on reading).
wearing earplugs had absolutely - repeat - absolutely no effect. I could put cotton into my ears for the effect that I got (without any of the unpleasant effects caused by the earplugs). Well, all I can say is that it is not for ME. I give it 1 star because of that. Wish I could return, but I have already thrown away the paperwork....
Beware the purchase of these plugs [Posted on 2008-03-31] I don't normally provide feedback on products because usually they work reasonably. This is the exception. This product is absolutely hopeless and not fit for purpose. Having tried to jam these into my ears in several different ways following various permutations of the instructions, there seem only two possible outcomes. Either perforate your ear drums or get no worthwhile sound attenuation.
I am at a loss to understand the various favourable reviews that persuaded me to order this product (in fact I bought two sets). I can only conclude that it is critically dependent on what the actual geometry of your ear canal is. If it is one in which the plugs can nestle, then they work as advertised. If it is not, you are out of luck and they are worthless and painful to boot. As there seems no way of knowing this in advance, I would be very cautious in the purchase of these products.
Ear plugs for people of audio [Posted on 2008-05-12] If you want to protect your hearing and listen to music without and harmonic difference, use these plugs. The only bad point is when the plug is attached to the string and the string moves, you will here the string movement because the plug is attached to the bone inside the ear.
Nice - Try Trimming if they don't fit... [Posted on 2008-06-02] When I first tried these on, they didn't go far enough into my ear to "seal". I then cut the smallest bud off the plug, and the result looked very natural, almost like these devices were meant to be trimmed to size. The resulting fit was snug and very much like any other isolator ear phone. I haven't worn these to a concert yet, but they come with a very nice carrying case and I'm going to order several more so I have them handy at the next event...
Save your money, buy foam earplugs instead [Posted on 2008-06-09] I play guitar and sing in a rock/blues band. I was told I'm starting to have some hearing loss, so I tried these and have also tried foam plugs. I couldn't tell the difference between these and foam plugs. Everything is too muffled with either set. I'm looking at more expensive plugs.
