mediocre [Posted on 2006-12-01] Two annoyances: the lifting device frequently lifted the phone spontaneously, when the phone wasn't in use. I never figured out if this was caused by friction, radio waves, a ghost.....
Also, the people at the other end of the line often had trouble hearing me. I'll try another brand....
Very good value [Posted on 2007-01-03] I live on conference calls, and I have wasted lots of time and money on the cheap corded headsets. This great litle headset can be used over the ear or with the headpiece, has great battery life, small "desk footprint" and very good sound quality. Range is pretty close to advertised - I've been able to take my dog outside, meet the delivery driver a the curb, etc while still on calls. It is less expensive than some of the "big brand" wireless headsets but I've had no problems with it at all.
It has an on-ear volume control, mute and shut off button...nice feature if you're not at your desk.
One suggestion for the chronically lazy - go ahead and get the telephone handset lifter for another $80 or whatever. As I understand it, that will allow totally handsfree operation (to include answering calls when not at your phone, a minor inconvenience for some, but I like the call waiting feature of my telephone too much!).
Seriously, for businesses with employees away from their desk often or without a desk, the handset lifter would be a good investment.
Read the instructions [Posted on 2007-08-19] "You sound like you are in a tin can."
"You sound like you are in a tunnel."
"Are you using tin cans and string?"
These are comments from my clients and colleagues on the sound quality of my voice when I first started talking to them through this headset.
You can overcome the "tin can" problems by adjusting the headset. Hold the MFB (multi-function button) (the middle button) down for six seconds till you hear a beep. Then, use the + and - buttons to adjust it to the tone that is best for you and your listeners.
To overcome the echo and distortion, just move the boom further from your lips. It is wonderfully sensitive and a distance of 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 inches from your lips is probably ideal. Proper ajustment of the distance of the mike from your lips will eliminate the echo and distortion.
The manufacturing quality of this set is good. The design is attractive and the materials are state of the art. The footprint is acceptable on my desk. The wireless aspect works well. There is little interference and the range is better than I thought it would be. I can talk from at least 125 feet away.
The remote lifter package is amazing. It mechanically lifts the handset on your phone out of the cradle to answer incoming calls. By remote, you can push the MFB and it will physicially lower the handset back into the cradle.
READ THE INSTRUCTIONS and this will be the solution you have been seeking for office communications mobility.

Excellent performance [Posted on 2008-08-08] After 18 months of use, I'm still very happy with this headset. It gets good range, and the battery lasts through occasional 10-hour conference calls with no problem. I typically charge mine (leave it on the base) over night. I can walk all over my home office with practically no noise or interference, and that's even in the presence of heavy 802.11 traffic. I can also walk outside, at least 100 yards away, and the call keeps working.
The mute button on the headset is very handy, so you can mute and un-mute the phone remotely.
I did have one problem where the button got sticky down inside, probably because I was muting and un-muting while eating lunch. They offered to fix it under warranty. I took the cover off and removed the battery, then dropped some isopropyl alcohol down into the button, then toggled the button several times. I waited over the weekend before re-installing the battery. The button works fine and I haven't had a problem since. (I've since heard that there are better cleaners, and that isopropyl alcohol might damage contacts. Some spray-on electronics cleaner would probably have been a better choice.)
