this is (and i 'm not exaggerating) the worst mp3 player i've ever had! The design is very poor and the battery compartment kept opening up and the battery would fall out. There is a small cheap plastic top to the battery unit and it doesn't latch or hold very securely.

also, i bought this and almost immediately had problems with it. I would press the volume and the genre of music style (rock, jazz, etc..) would change INSTEAD OF the volume and vice versa.... the volume level would sometimes not work at all and later on the entire thing would sometimes just shut off for no reason (probably due to the poor battery compartment design). Please do not buy this...it's a waste of money and way over-priced.

I have an ipod, zen m, and an old creative 40 g mp3 player. Each one is chuck full of music. I'm one of those who like to carry their whole music library with them as I never know what music mood I am in. I also like to listen to audio books. I usually use the ipod for the books as well as music, but don't like to switch back and forth between the books and music because at times I loose the bookmark and finding where I stopped is a royal pain.

So I bought the gpx to use just for the audio books. The player works fine (although not an ipod quality), the music that they had on it sounded good, but I deleted the music and downloaded some audio books which went fine. The unit only has 1 line of text scrolling. This made it hard to select a particular file for listening. Some times it wouldn't go back to the book I was listning to but jumped to another one. I had 4 books on the device. I had a dickens of a time trying to re-locate the current book I was listning to.

I have nothing against the product other then using it for audio books, which in my case I found difficult to manage.
