You just are not going to find a better sounding pair of phones for under $100. While the neckband style fit may not be for everyone,these really make the most out of the compressed music files on portable players. The i-Grado's ability to expand the sound stage really makes the difference.

I am trying to get into the "audiophile" lifestyle. I am a huge fan of all types of music from Jay-z to Celtic instumental. Trust me when I say that it ALL sounds GREAT with these headphones!!! I love these and if something were to happen to them tomorrow....well I'd cry, lol. I have tried ALL of the others in this price range and, trust me, you will NOT find a better pair for the money. Even if you spend more on other brands they would be lucky to come close to the sound recreation of these babies!!! I highly recommend these to many people and not one of them has been dissapointed in them after trusting my judgement, lol. I use these with my Microsoft Zune MP3 player and WOW!!! I recommend the Zune as well!!!! NOTE: The bass on these is great, but it takes about twenty hours of listening to really come in to the soundstage. Be patient and you will not be sorry. ORDER THESE TODAY!!!

I owned (and got rid of) the Shure earbuds which had no bass and sounded shrill. The Grados have a rich warm sound and are great for the airplane. They cost less and don't look as dorky as the Bose models. The fit was fine and easier to put on than the Shures.

I have now been using these for over 6 months, and I could not be happier. The difference over the standard earbuds is like night and day. You won't get thundering bass out these, of course, but vocals are very clear. They also sound very nice for podcasts.
If you are looking at anything under $100 give these a try

After the infamous quarter-mod (which just involves cutting a quarter-sized hole in the foam ear pads), you get true Grado sound out of these portable headphones, sound signature almost indiscernible from the Grado SR60 (in fact, they share the same driver).
What is the Grado sound? Think great soundstage, wonderful and aggressive highs, smooth midrange and punchy bass. Radiohead's "In Rainbows" sounds amazing at low volume levels on the iPod. Voices are warm and gentle. Highs are sparkly and clear.
Overall, loving it!
