Great product, would highly recommend it. [Posted on 2008-03-04] This case is very well made, fits the iTouch perfectly and is easy to slip the iTouch in and out of for docking (you can charge the iTouch while in the case). The clip makes it convenient for carrying while walking. Price was the best I've found.
Battery Problems [Posted on 2008-03-13] This is a nice case, until you discover that it drains your battery. I first thought my touch was the problem, but after removing it from the case the battery functioned normally again. I will be contacting the manufacturer about some sort of compensation.
This case causes crashes. [Posted on 2008-03-17] I have to agree with the other two reviewers here. While it looks like a nice case and is quite functional, it really does cause the iPod to crash. Over about a month long period, I would sometimes take it out of my pocket and find a bright white screen and the battery almost dead. I actually returned the ipod and got a different one thinking it was defective, but the exact same thing happened with the new one. I stopped using the case, and it's been fine since then =/
Almost perfect, at least for my needs [Posted on 2008-04-06] I really like this case. It fits the Touch precisely; headphone jack and docking jack openings are just where they should be. I like that the belt clip is both removable and adjustable so that you can wear the device vertically or horizontally on a belt.
My only complaint, and it is minor, is that when the device is worn horizontally, the cover flap falls open quite easily. A stronger magnet might help. Otherwise, the case meets my needs perfectly.
Bad case [Posted on 2008-05-13] This will cause havoc with your touch, avoid like the plague.
I have tested with 2 different cases and this case most definitely crashes and drains the touch.
Magnets in case flap are most likely to blame.
Got this back as feedback from the support people at Griffin
We understand your frustration, and appreciate your concern. We've heard from a handful of folks like yourself that have run into strange issues with the Elan Convertible case, and even though we had already done a lot of testing before we released the case, we did even more testing. After all of our testing, though, we were unable to recreate any issues with the Elan Convertible and the iPods that we have here. Furthermore, we heard from several users that had had this issue that they ran into the same issues with multiple replacement cases, cases that we tested before sending them out.
From what we can tell, this issue is a result of bad shielding in the iPod, and not the fault of the Elan Convertible case. Still, if you'd like to exchange that Elan case for another case, just give us a call at (800) 208-5996 between 9am and 6pm Monday through Thursday or between 9am and 5pm on Friday (CST) and we'll see what we can do for you.
Hope this helps,
