Ok, but not great [Posted on 2008-08-21] I was a bit disappointed when I tried to use this, as I found the tranmitter to produce a great deal of static on many different stations as well as a very weak overall sound. Griffin could definitely use a stronger transmitter. I think that would solve most of the units problems. It works as it says it does, but the static produced by the weak signal unfortunately offsets the benefits.
The product is Just Okay! NOTHING MORE OR LESS! [Posted on 2008-08-28] The product is Just Okay! NOTHING MORE OR LESS! I used it a lot and it is just the same i only give it 4 stars because it is cheap and easy to use. But the quality is just the same as any other product. So i recommend this product to everyone because it is cheap and worth every penny you spend!
adequate for its purpose [Posted on 2008-08-28] It does what it is supposed to do. It's pretty easy to use. I use it everyday at work to listen to podcasts while I'm on the road. It came in real handy on a recent trip to listen to music when we where out of range of decent radio stations. Low volume is an issue I have, but, that seems to be an issue with many iPod related products. The volume has to be turned up so loud that you can often hear static. A friend of mine has a similar product by another maker and it has similar issues. I have had problems finding a clear radio frequency, but, it seems to give me the best broadcast on a slightly noisier frequency. I have most of the presets in the high 80's and low 90's with one at 104.5. The 104.5 frequency has the most noise, but, gives me the best signal. I suggest trying several different ones. Different geographical areas give different results, so, don't be afraid to experiment. Charging my cell phone in the car can also cause some interferance, but, moving the phone closer to the iPod actually reduces the noise. Go figure.

Wow [Posted on 2008-08-31] I initially bought this for my wife to use on a cross country move. She was driving our car and I was driving a moving truck. This thing worked so well that I could pick up the signal using the truck's radio while she was using the transmitter to listening to music in the car hundreds of yards back! That made the trip a lot more tolerable for me :)
The sound quality is as good as a CD in less congested areas and sometimes deteriorates to radio like quality in areas with lots of stations, but that is to be expected with any of these fm transmitters.
Usually, if any product doesn't hold up to my expectations, I return it immediately. This product has exceeded my expectations, and I might buy another soon.
