This product is HORRIBLE [Posted on 2008-02-12] I just bought this product and put my ipod inside it. Upon trying to open it up to get my ipod back out the notch broke (the notch is a tiny slit in the plastic which is supposed to easily open the case - HA!) Since the notch was the ONLY way to open the stupid thing, I had to use a SCREWDRIVER to finally PRY it open!! IT SCRATCHED MY IPOD ALL UP AND (thanks to the use of the screwdriver) DENTED THE BACK OF MY IPOD! And let me assure you, I am the most gentle and cautious person you'll ever find when it comes to handling electronics; the notch breaking was not a result of "being to forceful with it", it is just a faulty product which SUCKS!
DON'T BUY IT!!!!
Nice, tight, solid case [Posted on 2008-04-23] This is a nice, sleek form-fitting case. It's not bulky and will not "thicken" ur nano. It's polycarbonate, so it's pretty solid like external hard drives' shell.
As for it breaking, it's most likely operator error. I've taken off and put on mine numerous times without a hitch by simply following the pictured steps on the packaging - I use a nickel to "pop" it open; insert the nickel in the notch, and turn it like you would a key and voila, and no, the notch does not break that easy. There's no need to screwdriver your nano.
Over-priced piece of junk [Posted on 2008-07-02] I bought this elsewhere when I got my nano. Put it on and wanted to take it off because there was a hair sandwiched between the screen and the case. I inserted a coin as directed and gently began to pry the two halves apart ........ SNAP!!!
Are you kidding me?
How about I open you up? no your just gonna break on me? Ungrateful piece of plastic! [Posted on 2008-08-13] what is this? i first got it and i was able to open it easily enough with a key but after awhile the front notch broke! it seems like everyones having this problem. Thankfully i figured out a way to open it without going to the screwdriver, you have to grasp the top of the case with one hand while pushing against the back notch. its actually easier open now but, im not satisfied at all with this product
Breaks Easily (but still pretty good) [Posted on 2008-08-15] I had the same problem with all the other reviewers, mine also cracked when trying to remove my iPod. I have a red iPod nano and I wanted a clear case, because I didn't want to hide the cool color with a ugly leather case. Besides the fact that the case cracks easily, it does protect my ipod pretty well from the rain, and from getting dirty. I also liked the fact that it has a sleek design and it doesn't even look or feel like I have a cover on it.
