Customer Reviews:

Pretty much sucks!! [Posted on 2008-06-12]
Do yourself a favor and do not buy this Itrip. I had one of the old ITrips that you plugged into the top of your IPod. It actually worked pretty well. After buying an IPod Nano, I got this Itrip. It is a complete waste of money. It works well at home when sitting on top of my radio but I bought it to use in my car as well. I cannot get reception ANYWHERE on ANY station without hearing constant static in the background. I would never buy this again. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

Dont waste your money, you will regret this purchase. [Posted on 2008-06-29]
I bought this item because I use to have the older one that slots on top of the photo ipods (pre-video bottom slots). I loved it even though it broke and had to purchase a new one. Eventually my Ipod needed to be replaced so I purchased one of the video Ipods. Trusting Griffin iTrips I bought this despite bad feedback it already had. After having it now for a few months, I have hated it from day one. No matter what stations I try I always get static. I live about an hour away from Atlanta, so there really should be no reason for this. Ive tried every single radio station possible with no luck. The second thing that I hate about this iTrip is that there is no way to boost the signal level with the Ipods volume. You can only use your car volume to control it. This is because of some change with these newer ipods and only having the slot on the bottom for syncing and such. SO on top of getting static on all stations there is no way to boost the sound or level to try and "drown out" the static. My suggestion, find a way to plug directly into your system, the new iTrips are all horrible.

Pretty good buy, just need to know what you're doing [Posted on 2008-07-02]
this is a great product, you just have to find the right station. I bought this to replace my old FM transmitter, which worked best on station 102.1, this one did not work so well on that station, in fact, it was horrible. Changing the channel to 100.9 or 101.7 (I don't remember which one) made the thing work as if I had hard-wried my iPod into my stereo system. People may say this product doesn't work, but all you have to do is find the right station and it sounds great! Only thing I have against this is that there is no way to know how to turn it on, it turns on when you hit play on you iPod, it took me a while to figure that out...but now I know

Very disappointed with the "upgrade" [Posted on 2008-07-11]
For the past 2 years I have been using an older version of the itrip: (Griffin 9781-TRP30BK iTrip FM Transmitter with Dock Connector for iPod (Black)). I misplaced that iTrip and bought this one as a replacement. This product was a major downgrade from the earlier version because the frequency range for the newer one bottomed out at 88.1. I had been using 87.9 on my old one because no radio station uses that frequency. This newer iTrip supposedly automatically adjusted its signal strength to overpower anything on a certain frequency but when I tried to put it on a frequency with complete static, the iTrip would not overpower it. Yet somehow it was able to overpower a select group of full stations (although the static was so bad that if I wasn't holding it and using my body as an amplifier I would just hear the radio station). I strongly recommend to anyone, especially those near big cities, to go with the older model which I included earlier in this review.

Best iTrip Yet. [Posted on 2008-07-15]
In the past five or so years, I've owned two iTrips. This one is my third. All three performed wonderfully, and withstood heat and humidity like champions. Each one has wonderful reception right out of the box, but after about 2-3 years, begins to fade in and out of tuning. As of yet, this one has had no problems and works wonderfully well. I only wish the backlight was as strong as the previous models.
