Hot Link Pro Remote Control Booster System ( 8225P ) [Posted on 2008-06-12] I hide all my components in a cabinet. this works great, all you see is a cool blue LED that flashes when you use the remote. you can control up to 6 components with what comes included. install is a breeze.
Excellent product [Posted on 2008-06-13] Well constructed. Works better than I thought it would; it's extremely sensitive. Highly recommend it.
Works with security DVR from Topica [Posted on 2008-06-28] In the building I live, it was recently installed a video security surveillance system from Topica. We had this problem: the DVR was installed behind a wall and the Remote controller was useless. I found this article in Amazon and wrote the manufacturer about the compatibility of their product with this DVR unit. They promptly answered:
"Hot Link products can repeat 18Hkz to 120 Khz. This includes almost everything but a few odd Sony ES series and some older Kenwood high-end units and very few Pioneer Elite Receivers.
If it does not work, call tech support first, 800-999-8846 or my number below. If we cannot get it up and running, we will refund and accept return."
After this answer, I ordered the device, Once I received it, I tested it, and voila!!! it Worked.
Just a hole through the wall, we pass the IR receiver and the blue Led, plugged the device to the power outlet, and attached the repeater to the DVR. Now our surveillance team can zoom in on each video screen using the IR remote.
It was the cheapest, and fasted solution we could ever find.
OMG...It really does work...GREAT!!! [Posted on 2008-07-14] ok here's my setup...follow along...Panasonic TH-58PE75U on the wall...on the otherside of the wall in another room in the top shelf of the closet is my AV system comprising of the Onkyo TXSR705 with a Brighthouse Networks HD Scientific Atlanta 8700 cable box...So i get the product and i will admit at first it wasnt working too great...but the setup is very easy and it comes with a blue LED light that helps you measure radiated light noise from your other electronics...Espically Plasma TV's and with me having 58inches i still had NO PROBLEM...so the directions say to watch the blue led glow...as you move the IR eye around you will see the blue LED light go dim...the dimmer the better. in the end. i found a spot under my tv in the middle behind the tv. the IR eye is very powerful so whne i point the Mulit remote from my Onkyo it simply bounces off the wall and shoots up into the eye...now i do have to point it to the center of the tv...but...it works awsome!!!...also...i did have to play with the position of the stick on eye located in the other room glued to the Onkyo...but after a few trys BAMMMM...DEAD CENTER...and the remote speeds through changes effortlessly like it was in the same room...so i think its more important to be dead on with the sticky eye on your equipment most...hope this helps...its WELL WORTH THE MONEY AND IS EVEN CHEAPER ON AMAZON...take care you all..
This is what you want! [Posted on 2008-07-24] This is exactly what I was looking for, I can now have all my components hidden from view in a cabinet and it was very simple to install
