Ok but not great... [Posted on 2007-09-28] I just purchased this product recently because I wanted to play my I pod in the car. I drive an 06 Scion tC and when I first opened the package to install the product it didn't fit in my cig lighter. I had to turn it sideways which was no big deal. Then I tuned it to 88.1 Fm. It worked. So I was happy. Ok then comes the bad part. I drive through Camarillo, Moorpark, and Simi valley all the way to Chatsworth everyday to go to work. I had to change the station like 5 times and I couldn't get a clear signal. The station kept cutting into my songs and then it turned to complete static. I can see why this product would be good for one area but if you travel it may be hard to find a clear station. Unless I'm doing something wrong I do not think this product deserves 5 stars...I understand there will be static through an Fm transmitter no matter what but having to tune the station every 5 min is ridiculous. Also the holder is flimsy and if you have a scion tC there is no where to put it so I just keep it in my cup holder. I would like to add that there is a charger on this thing so if all else fails I will use it for that alone.
Works very well [Posted on 2007-10-01] Have been using for over a month now and it works very well. Being able to choose any frequency is very helpful, once you find a clear station there is almost no static at all. The mounting unit for an iPod Nano is very helpul too. This unit actually looks pretty good too, very well designed and worth the extra $$.
I love being able to use ipod in the car! [Posted on 2008-01-06] This is a good transmitter/ipod carcharger. It does get static and the station need to be changed occasionally, but otherwise, it works great! This is my first ipod car device, but I like it.
A few things that are a little annoying: some songs are very quiet when played through the transmitter, and the actual piece that you plug the ipod into is a pain. You have to take the back off of the ipod holder to release the ipod, and the plug does not go in and out easily. So if you want to remove your ipod from your car after every use, it gets very frustrating. Otherwise, I am satisfied with this device.
