These speakers sound great. I'm using them for my desktop PC, and when I travel, for my laptop. The only drawback is the power/volume switch, which is a little hard to turn on.

I got this just recently but I am very happy with the quality of the sound. No power cable interference as somebody said, and trust me I have a lot of cables around it!

These speakers give a natural sound to voice and music. I listen a lot to classical guitar and the instrument comes through very nicely. I first placed them on a shelf on the wall above my computer. Since the speaker cones apparently are angled somewhat upward, I found they sounded better when I placed them at the same level as the computer. But either way they are excellent. Yes, JBL could have designed a better on/off button, but you can cover it with a piece of thin rubber or tape to grab it better.
I don't know if other speakers have a volume button separate from the on/off button, a feature that would let you keep the same volume all the time. The JBLs don't have it, but you can't expect perfection for a mere $39 with free shipping. These speakers perfectly fit my needs.

I bought these speakers because they looked cool. I figured all small PC speakers would sound pretty much the same anyway, so they won me over in the cool department. And they did sound pretty nice until I turned up the volume to 3/4.
These speakers fail in the most basic areas.
1. When the volume is turned up they squeal, regardless of the orientation of the speakers. This must be an internal flaw with the circuitry.
2. You cannot adjust the volume with one hand. The knob is too smooth and too tight to grip so you have to hold the speaker with one hand to get a good grip on the knob to turn it.
OK, so I told myself I must have gotten a dud, it happens. These speakers could never have passed JBL quality control and actually been mass produced this way, could they? Then one day I came across a co-worker who had a set of these at her workstation. I asked how she liked them and she told me the same things I just told you.
As I am reading all these glowing reviews I am thinking "OMG people are going to buy these speakers" so I felt compelled to share my experiences to warn potential buyers as I wish I had been warned. My speakers did not make it back from vacation, they are somewhere in a Mexico landfill.

These little speakers have great sound. I use them with my laptop to listen to iTunes, and you would think I had a big stereo system! I've had them for about a year now, and have never had any problems at all.
