Very dissapointing sound [Posted on 2008-01-08] After doing some extensive browsing, reading reviews here and elsewhere, and having had many high quality products from JBL all my life, I decided on these headphones to replace my current iPod ones with a superior quality than the average $5 headphones, yet the sound quality is absolutely terrible, very dissapointing given that JBL has a reputation for high volume, high quality sound, perhaps not audiophile level, but definitely always above average. The bass is simply not existent, overall the sound is distorted with an iPod or even to a CD player. I gave this product 2 stars because the fit, look and finish is really great, but the sound was truly awful. I ended up getting much better sound from a set of Philips headphones I found at $10 at my local Walgreen's. Hopefully my next JBL product will restore my faith in the brand.
Best earbuds I've ever owned [Posted on 2008-02-02] These sound great and they are sturdy. I wouldn't say I was abusive with my equipment but I am active and am not always as gentle as I could be. That said, I've owned these for several months and no sign of wear and tear which is a record for me.
Like I said I love the sound I get. I'm happy with the range, but I am not looking for engineer quality headphones. It has good bass/treble balance, good isolation factor and fits well in my ears.
Fundamentally, I care about being song quality more than sound quality. The best headsets can't turn a crappy song into a good one, but with these, you can still hear why your songs are good.
don't lose those inserts or you are screwed [Posted on 2008-02-15] I am a runner and spend a lot of time trying to push the earphones back into my ears and THEY HAVE NO WAY OF REPLACING THE EAR INSERTS. Without them the headphones are worthless. I am furious. I'm not spending another seventy dollars b/c I lost a part that is worth two cents and they refuse to sell anywhere. I am so disgusted I can't tell you. They suck.
JBL headphones are for you [Posted on 2008-05-12] If you have an iPod and find it hard to hear your music when in a noisy crowd, these JBL headphones are for you. They make the standard iPod headphones sound like the free ones you get on an airplane. These are especially great for commuting, if you, often, find yourself riding the subway or similar transportation and find it hard to hear your music with conventional headphones. I also have JBL speakers in my car and can honestly say that they now have a loyal fan.
Great!!! [Posted on 2008-05-18] This earphone is definitely the best I have used!!! It honors the JBL trade.
The sound is clear in all ranges; bass is more than adequate (read it powerful without interfere in the middles and highs). I can't even compare the quality of these with the original iPod ones..
The bad part: it takes a while (let's say 1 minute) to adjust it in the ears. (If you don't adjust it right you won't listen to any bass, but after, wow!). You can hear the cable moving if you are listening to music in lower volume.. this is annoying.. (that is why I didn't give them 5 stars)
Other than that, I do recommend these earphones! Great value, awesome sound!!!
