Great sounds come out of these headphones however they are a bit small and to some extent uncomfortable if used for hours like watching a movie or two but overall a good pair of headphones.

I purchased these about 6 months ago and have been so amazed by their performance. Their design makes them more isolating than any noise canceling headphones I have tried. They are super efficient, meaning I typically have them at about 2/3 the normal volume, which means longer iPod battery life. I am pretty rough with them and they have survived remarkably well. Super good value for money; if mine broke right now I would spend double their price on a new pair.
One word of warning, don't get the noise canceling ones. They are pointless. JBL put the noise canceling electronics in a dongle halfway down the cable (dumbest idea ever). The principles of are based on speed of response, and so the result is just a annoying hiss layered on top of the music, bleh. I ended up cutting out the dongle and rewiring them, now it works fine:)

I've use this many times now on the plane to cancel out outside noises. I didn't like the earbug headphone that came with the ipod, and this unit is an excellent alternative.

So, I bought these headphones after looking around at other alternatives. I own several other JBL products and absolutely love them. But, my views do differ when it comes to these. I bought these about five months ago. The sound quality is phenomenal(as one would expect from JBL) for something that is only around $20 (hence the "1" star). But they are extremely uncomfortable. I have an average size head and these go around my head so tightly, that it feels like I have a big clamp over my head. After 15-10 minutes of keeping them on, my ears start to hurt from the outside from all the pressure that is being exerted on them by the poor design (I let my sister borrow them, and she had the same complaint). And speaking of poor design, be prepared to be very still while using these. The top of the headphones is much heavier than the rest, so any slight movement causes them to simply fall off. So if you are at the gym or just walking around and decide to look down (like if you pull out your cell phone and bend your head) Boom. Off they go.
I expected better from JBL considering that I own several of their products which I absolutely love, but they sucked it up on this one...so, one star it is just because the sound is good.
