Customer Reviews:

Headphones [Posted on 2008-07-28]
These are every bit as good as the Bose model which runs $299.00 at only one-third of that price.
They both block out, and provide amazing stereo sound with comfortable earphones and a carying case for travel.

Do a Good Job in Eliminating External Noise [Posted on 2008-08-16]
I live in a hi-rise and I bought these for a couple of reasons. Often people are doing noisy construction which reverberates all over the building. With some music playing through these, the noise is minimized or absent. Also, when I go to the health club to work out frequently the 2 tvs are blaring out or personal trainers are barking instructions at people and when I wear these I can block that noise out and concentrate on my work out. Today they are blocking out the sound of fighter planes crashing over my building during our annual air and water show. They are very comfortable and the sound quality of music is good, I am very please with them.

Beware or buying this product [Posted on 2008-08-17]
When I first started using it, I thought the sound quality was terrific, and the noise cancellation was not quite as good, but almost as good as, the Bose QC3 that my partner owns. However, after a few minutes, I took the headphones off with the music on, and I noticed that the sound leaked in a serious way (I was not listening to the music very loud). I put the headphones back on, and my partner told me that he could still hear my music clearly. So this was a big negative. Then, after about a month, with the noise cancellation on, the left headphone made a popping noise, then serious static noise that wouldn't go away. The static noise continues every time I tried using it afterwards. The headphones can now only be used with the noise cancellation OFF. This completely defeats the reason I bought these headphones.

I love these headphones! [Posted on 2008-08-25]
I travel quite a bit and have been looking for noise cancelling headphones for over 1 year. I did a lot of research: read a ton of reviews and tried several headphones. After all that resarch, I found that the Jabra c820s are the best headphones of all the ones I read about or tried.

I researched online for a long time before actually buying a set of headphones. I read about the Jabra's and several others, including Bose. After several months of reading, I finally got tired of not having headphones and decided to buy a set of the Brookestone on-ear headphones from the airport in Houston. I tried the headphones on my trip home to Seattle and found that after about one hour the headphones began to hurt my ears. They were small and lightweight, but began to get uncomfortable after a while. Additionally, I didn't notice a siginificant difference in noise cancelling. Music sounded better than my normal iPod in-ear headphones, but I didn't think it sounded significantlly better.

I decided to exchange the headphones on my next trip. I exchanged the on-ear version for the around-ear headphones at Chicago O'hare. While the over-ear version of the headphones was more comfortable and blocked the noise slightly better than the on-ear headphones, the sound quality was the same and I felt that it wasn't worth the price. Plus, the headphones weighed more and the size was too big. So, I decided to return the headphones and buy the Jabra c820s.

I am reluctant to buy things online. I like to have a store that I can take things back to in case I have problems. That's why I bought the Brookestones first. However, since I couldn't find anything as good as the reviews made the Jabra headphones sound, I finally took the plunge. I bought the headphones right before my trip to Hong Kong. I wore the headphones on the longest leg of the trip for 10 hours. The headphones are extremely comfortable. The sound quality is phenomenal. I watched in-flight movies, listened to my iPod, and just tried the noise cancelling feature. In all aspects the headphones performed extremely well. The best feature about the headphones is the fact that you can listen to music or movies without turning on the noise cancelling feature. The sound quality isn't as good, but at least you know that you can still listen if the battery dies, which happens to last for up to 50 hours.

I am actually writing this review from my hotel room in Hong Kong. I love the headphones and recommend these to anyone looking for high quality headphones for a reasonable price. I will update the review if I have anything else to add or change.
