Very good sound, VERY tight fit [Posted on 2006-01-24] For portable low price headphones sound very good. Decent bass as well. Of course there is a catch..Man these things are tight in your ears! Good for working out because they are not going to move, but after 30-45 minutes you are going to want to take these things out.
Be careful what you wish for [Posted on 2006-02-20] After tolerating the annoyance of my MP3 player's earbuds for over a year, I decided to spend a few dollars to get some headphones that wouldn't fall out during a workout.
I considered several different sets of headphones here on Amazon, and I finally settled on these. I noted the caveats of other reviewers about the tight fit, but I figured that tight fit was excactly what I was after, anyway. After a few workouts with these headphones, here's my thoughts:
The reviewers who pointed out the tight fit were not kidding. These things will never come out of your ears; running, crunches, whatever. The price to be paid for this is definite discomfort. The first ten or fifteen minutes are tolerable, but by the end of your first half-hour with these things in, your ears will really hurt.
I'm not a sound quality guru by any means, but the sound from the headphones seems to be just fine.
In addition to the fit there's a couple of other criticisms to be made about the design, although they're really just nitpicks. This headset has its own volume adjustor built in to the cord, which I imagine will be redundant for 90% of its users (it certainly is for me). The cord is also wound into a spiral for part of the length (kind of like an old pre-cordless telephone), which looks somewhat odd.
So all told, if you want a pair of headphones that you won't have to keep putting back into your ears when you're working out, then these are for you.. provided that you have an extraordinary tolerance for pain. I'll most likely be picking up some other headphones shortly.
Great sound, but a little tight. [Posted on 2006-09-18] Love the sound and volume control on these. The cord length for running is perfect. The only improvement I would suggest is to loosen the headpiece somehow...it's irritating on the long runs. But, I love the fact that they don't fall off no matter what!
ears hurt [Posted on 2007-01-02] the sound of the earphones are decent, and i like the build where it goes behind the neck, but the cord that connects the acutal headphones to the audio jack is strange. first from the actual headphones, there's about 6-7 inches of wire, then the wire starts to wind into itself, as if it were a telephone chord, that goes on for about 5 inches of wound wire which can stretch for around 4 feet no problem, then it goes back to straight wire, then it's the little remote where it lets you control the sound, there is also a mute switch on it, then theres about 10 inches of wire till the jack
wearing the earbuds is like sticking a pen into your ear and applying some pressure, not enough to bleed, but enough to cause irritation
great tight headphones [Posted on 2008-03-04] I bought my first pair of these headphones a year ago and have loved them. Of over a dozen headphones I went thru this set have lasted over 12 months. There is nothing wrong with the first pair I just decided to purchase a couple more (3 at this price) as backups. I realized that I wouldn't want to wait 5 days for a new pair if/when this set finally does give out. I wear the headset to run and sometimes in the weight room. I love that they are tight. I like the curled cord with the volume control in the cord. I wear my player in an arm band, so the curled cord gives but keeps the cord from dangling or getting messed up if I pump my arms. The sound is loud and good enough for running music.
