No Video Out on New iPods [Posted on 2008-01-29] I had a 5th Gen iPod and everything worked great. Now I have a iPod Classic. Video out no longer works.
Careful. This product is obsolete. :(
DO NOT BUY IF YOU HAVE A NEWER IPOD! [Posted on 2008-04-11] I just got an Ipod Touch, and video out DOES NOT work with this dock. I don't understand why it doesn't work but it's a major bummer!
Piece of junk [Posted on 2008-09-06] The unit has worked OK although the remote failed intermittently from day one. Now the Increase Volume(+) and skip foward on the remote doesn't work at all. This leaves the docking station a useless piece of junk because although the volume on the Ipod is on MAX, the volume on the docking station can't be increased(without the remote) so that it leaves the music is at an inaudible level.
Very good product for the money [Posted on 2008-09-30] Product was easy to set up. Cheap and effective solution for docking the I-pod to my home stereo. Remote control is simple and easy to use. Keep in mind that you will still need to be near the I-pod when using the remote since there is no information screen on the remote. It also works as a charger which is much easier than plugging into the laptop each evening.
Great sound and good remote [Posted on 2008-11-13] I purchased mine a over a year ago when a major chain was downsizing their stores for about $50. At that price it is a good deal. I can't fathom spend more for it.
If you have an old iPod you can use it for video and it works well. New iPod users this might not be for you. You would be happier with DLO's dock and the menu can be view on you TV which the Kennsington doesn't do.
The first thing I notice is the fidelity which other docks I don't have. So on the basis of great sound this is a winner. The remote is RF so you can be in another room to control your sound and songs but you better have a playlist to benefit from skipping songs.
In over a year and a half I have had no problems with it. I have used it for travel to watch videos on Hotel TV's with out a hitch as well.
