Customer Reviews:

Great concept...only if you can get it to work [Posted on 2008-07-17]
I have an iPOD, I have a car, why not get this product?
Well, the moment I opened the box, I noticed an AUX cable and slapped my forehead - my car is not AUX capable. Unless the car stereo has an AUX output, you wouldn't be able to use this product. I know the product name is supposed to advise you of this (being `LiquidAUX' and all), but how many times does one read the manual? What am I - Sherlock Homes?

If you are one of the lucky ones that has the AUX_IN capability, then I'm sure you'd be able to enjoy the sounds of your iPOD with this very nicely packaged, very promising product. I don't, so I couldn't :(
Yes, I can pug it into my home stereo, but then it is not `Car Kit' but a plain `Home Kit' and so why not just use my Logitech Pure-Fi Elite High-Performance Stereo System for iPod?

I recommend only if you have the AUX capable stereo.

Easy To Use! [Posted on 2008-07-17]
I'd tried to use a similar product on a road trip last summer but for some reason it only worked in mono and not stereo. Quite annoying.

This kit is simple, easy to use and it works quite well. The wireless control fits very easily onto the steering wheel and proved to be very handy.

It took me three minutes to get it all hooked up the first time and it detaches and stores in the glove box or my bag when I leave. It's a great product.

Good Product, Can work Without AUX [Posted on 2008-07-17]
Like a few other reviewers, I ordered this item without realizing that it is designed to work only with cars that have a built in aux port. I did, however, find it fairly easy to still use this in my car (without an aux port), by using a simple adapter to connect my existing tape player adapter (the same as any tape player connector you would use to play ipod, cd player, etc through your car's cassette deck).

The sound quality was excellent, the remote worked great and responded quickly. The design definitely allows you to place the ipod out of the way (glove box, center console, etc).

While the controls are obviously very limited from the remote, they are sufficient for navigating a pre-established play list fairly well. And in reality, trying to do more than this (like find a speciic album or song) with the actual ipod while driving is definitely getting into dangerous driving territory. So, I found the idea and functionality of the basic remote still pretty helpful.

For anyone without an aux connection in their car, however ... unless you really, really like the idea of having the remote steering wheel control, I would suggest a solution that more directly targets the tape/radio connection .... such as the DLO Transpod/Transdock.

Impressive Product for an iPod Charger [Posted on 2008-07-18]
This has got to be the fanciest iPod car charging device I've ever seen. I call it an iPod charger simply because, to use your iPod with an aux input, you simply need a male-to-male 1/8" audio cable, not some fancy adapter like this one. That said, a cable alone won't keep your iPod charged up while you're driving (and if you're like me, you spend more time in the car than you realize), but this device will. Furthermore, this product actually has a remote that attaches to your car steering wheel. This was the main attraction for me, because I hate having to fumble for my iPod when I'm navigating through traffic. The remote uses a button cell battery (it's included) and allows you to start and stop playback, and to go forward and back in your playlist. That's pretty simple functionality, but it's very handy to have it at your fingertips and it works well. Sound quality is probably as good as it could be, considering it's an auxiliary input.

Since it plugs into your auxiliary input on your car stereo, you have to make sure you have one of those (it looks like a headphone jack). If you don't, you'll need an FM transmitter or a cassette adapter, not this product.

All in all, I would recommend this product. I was even impressed with the packaging it came in. It was almost "Apple" like in its simplicity and thoughtfulness.

finally! [Posted on 2008-07-19]
This is a great, user-friendly way to listen to your iPod in the car. Installation was straightforward and sounds quality is great, as we have come to expect from the ipod. Unlike other kinds of devices to hook up the ipod to the car speakers, there is no buzzing, no interference, and the iPod cannot just "fall off". We really liked it. One complaint: we coulnd't get the remote to work. Other than that, we were happy with it.
