Waste [Posted on 2007-10-10] These headphones basically suck. They don't fit well, and consistantly fall out while I'm walking with even the slightest tug on the cord. They don't wrap around very well either. Basically, just don't buy this.
Ear Ache [Posted on 2007-10-24] I have search high & low for the perfect pair of headphones to use while working out. These are not them. They're too large for my ears and are uncomfortable to wear. Might work for someone with bigger ears though.
Cheap, loud, fragile [Posted on 2008-06-24] I have been through at least 10 of these. They come with the RIO MP3 players. They are modular and easy to remove the earhooks and use as buds. You can also adjust the angle of the headphones with respect to the hooks. The wires are light and long enough. They fit my ears well and are really LOUD. If you commute by bike you will appreciate buds that are loud enough to hear over a passing bus. They tolerate a lot of sweat. Downfall- the plug eventually breaks- very frustrating.
Pros- cheap, loud and adjustable
Cons: you will only know if they work for you by buying a pair. The jack will eventually break- particularly if you carry them in your pocket.
best way to throw away $15 [Posted on 2008-07-31] Negative stars.
This 'product' is sold under different generic brands. All boast about 'driver size'. I bought pair at Fred Meyer like an idiot.
There was nothing good or even adequate about them. The sound was atrocious. Antique earbuds from 1979 were about the same. Despite the hook, they did not stay in place for me and were not comfortable. The wire was stiff and actually cracked! The hooks constantly came apart. The ear foam was crap. The old Jensen Audio company is long gone. It's just a cheap import brand now. Even the website listed here is wrong. Now I think the 'bigger' the driver, the worse the sound. Not surprisingly, they looked cheap when wearing them, too.
Get some good earhooks from a quality brand for a little more, or good silicon gasketed earbuds, like Philips.
Good for the money [Posted on 2008-12-02] I primarily use the headphones for working out and running. I'm on my second pair. My first pair came w/ an old Rio MP3 player. Once I made the switch to the ipod I soon realized that I couldn't stand earbuds. I liked the wrap around style and tried a couple of other higher priced sets from sony and phillips and they either didn't fit right or sounded terrible. These sound decent, are pretty durable, are cheap and won't fall out while running or other activities. If you're looking for perfect sound quality and comfort, buy a set from bose. If you want headphones w/ decent sound and can take a beating, spend a couple of bucks on the RIOs.
