Excellent product. Great seller [Posted on 2008-09-03] The people who sold this were extremely fast in dispatching it to me. And since Linksys is a trusted name in Networking products so I was never disappointed upon recieving this product. It just worked wonders for me.
Couldn't make it work on WPA Wireless Network [Posted on 2008-09-22] I have an older (2003 vintage) Vaio laptop with an XP operating system that I wanted to network with my home Linksys WPA "G" wireless network. Despite extensive consultation with Linksys techs, I could not get it to link into the network. So, I sent it back. By the way, I have a newer Gateway Vista laptop that is operating on the network just fine. I'm not sure whether the problem was with the network adapter or the older laptop, so I couldn't rate the product highly. The return was not worth it because of the restocking fee and shipping and handling. I netted back only a few bucks on my purchase as a result. It was a pretty frustrating and annoying experience.
Some installation difficulties [Posted on 2008-09-25] This product is functioning with no problems. I am running Windows XP Pro SP2 on my laptop.
I followed the suggestion i saw on the Web of using the Linksys install disk procedures, NOT the Windows installation process. This failed - with my consistently getting the Cannot Connect to Internet message even though the access point was recognized. After much reviewing of my Linksys WRTP54G wireless router configuration settings I decided that these were fine. I had previously connected a Logitech music server to my wireless network so i saw no reason to believe that the wireless router configuration was a problem
After much frustration i decided to use the Windows installation procedures. The drivers were taken from my Linksys install disk and the installation went flawlessly.
I have had no further problems.
Decent, does the trick [Posted on 2008-10-21] You get what you pay for. It is a decent wireless notebook adapter. Not great, but once again, you get what you pay for.
Sent the wrong thing but the item itself works well [Posted on 2008-11-23] I ordered this item but got the dual band wireless adapter. Which apparently is a step above what I ordered. It works just fine and was simple to install. Regardless, they sent me the wrong thing and didn't tell me until I found out when I got it.
