Customer Reviews:

Outstanding for the price! [Posted on 2004-05-14]
I just bought a new computer and was disappointed with the terrible quality speakers they came with. I have never purchased computer speakers before, so I did alot of research because I wanted to get quality speakers without having to spend a ton of money. Well I came across these, and they fit right into my budget. I hooked them up to my new computer and WOW. These are amazing. I honestly was not expecting such an incredible sound to come out of these small things.

The subwoofer is great. I have never owned a subwoofer before and I was a little surprised at how large it is. There is definitely plenty of bass, the nob isn't even at halfway.

The setup was a breeze. It took me about 10 minutes. Anyone can do it! The little blue light isn't as annoying as everyone says it is. If you don't like it, stick a piece of tape over it! Simple. I love the fact that there is a headphone jack in the front speaker.. this makes my life alot easier.

Overall, these speakers were a great, small investment and I'm glad I chose Logitech!

Thud, thud, thud...Ugh!! [Posted on 2004-06-19]
After reading 1000's of reviews on Amazon, I've never been compelled to write one myself - until now. Simply put, these speakers are terrible. I've had them for about a week now and they're definitely going back.

Where to begin...Well, as my title suggests, the bass produces more of a thud sound than anything else. They're neither smooth nor in any way accurate, just thud, thud, thud. I tried various sub-woofer placements, EQ tweaks, and sub-woofer volume modulations. They're incapable of any sort of warmth or presence at all.

For the record, I've owned an Altec Lansing 3.0 set up for about 4 years on my home computer - I believe the model# is 45.2. I can't believe how much better those speakers sound than these Logi-craps. In contrast to the smooth, transparent crossover with the A/L's, these LogiTechs are all high AND low, there's such huge lack of mid-range - I'm astonished.

I even tried taking off the little grilles in an attempt to coax a little more improvement - nothing.

Lastly, the on/off light is THAT bad - like a little laser beam to the eye.

Please do yourself a favor and keep on shopping.

I have these speakers and I LOVE them [Posted on 2004-11-25]
A little while ago I was viewing some video clips on NBC and when the first one came on, it just about blew me away. It sounded just like I was in a movie theater. (Maybe because I usually keep the volume on the low side so I don't disturb my neighbors). The sub woofer is awesome in my opinion. To look at these little speakers, one would never ever suspect they could possibly produce such a quality sound. I'm extremely happy with my purchase and would recommend them to anyone.

This is how u should setup these speakers [Posted on 2005-08-05]
When I bought this set in 2002 i needed bass! I read all the internet reviews and none of them were raving about these speakers. The one thing they all agreed on was that it had too much Bass. So I thought to myself......all I really need is Bass anyways and I don't want to pay a lot for it. So I bought them, and I got what I paid for. Nothing but mid-low - low frequencies. It fit into my main plan, which was to spilt my audio jack and run to two speaker systems. I had some Altec speakers that my brother had given me years ago. I like the speakers b/c they had tweeter and an EQ(treble/bass). I used the altecs for highend and the Logitech for low end. That's all you have to do with this system. Honesty, just think of it as a subwoofer b/c besides the headphone jack(which i use when i'm recording during studio sessions) it's just Knock. It has never broke and i've been back and forth with it on the road. IT's a great bang for your buck.

MAIN POINT
1) treat this system like a good subwoofer(the best you'll find in this price range by far!).
2) get another pair of speakers that have a great highend or an EQ control on them.
3) get a 1/8 "Y" audio adapter from radio shack or bestbuy, etc.....
4) hook that up and you've got yourself a system worthy of many sound sitations, Trust me I've got the papers to show!!!

Knowledge
I'm an audio fanatic and let me tell you....there is thud sound from this sub. It sounds wonderful. The better the sound card(I have Audigy) the better the sub sounds. I've mixed down many tracks using these speakers.

Enter title here... (Nobody reads the title anyways!) [Posted on 2005-11-18]
Bought a couple years ago and since then they have been used in many different applications. 2 different computers, small stereo system, etc. They work just fine with computers. Using the equalizer on media player made them sound pretty good. Trebble does lack even tweaked but they are 1" full range drivers. With the bass turned down the sub was great. Very full and dynamic. Cranked the sub is just way too loud for the satellites. latter used these speakers connected to a tv and worked fine there too. Now hooked up to a discman in the garage. Perfect there. Wall mounted the satellites and weighed down the sub to the concrete. Way more than enough full bodied sound there. Blue power light illuminates the whole garage when I turn off the light overhead. Too bright and focused. Overall this system does not disappoint for 30 bucks.
