Great pair of speakers [Posted on 2007-08-06] I got these speakers well over a year ago for my iPod Nano, and they still work well. The sound is surprisingly full for the speakers, and the price was decent as well compared to other speakers. The volume is not an issue at all, it is as loud as a $200 speaker my friend bought. But if you are looking for a speaker that will be heard over a crowd of people in a party, etc. then this product is not for you. The only thing I didn't like was after a year the sound wouldn't come out of one of the sides of the speaker. You can adjust the position of the movable speaker heads until they both produce sound. Otherwise, its a great speaker that I suspect will last me a long time
Speakers [Posted on 2007-09-09] They work great, got them for my grandaughter for you ipod and it work wonderful.
WARNING: It drains the AAA batteries even when it is turned off ! The power button is backwards ! [Posted on 2007-09-11] WARNING: It drains the AAA batteries even when it is turned off ! The power button is backwards !
++ PROS ++
+ Lightweight, weighs less than a pound !
+ Foldable, can be easily packed in a backpack or purse, even a large 3 ring binder can hold them
+ Battery powered, decent battery time, we get at least 12 - 16 hours of usage off 4 Duracell AAA's
-- CONS --
- The AAA batteries will drain even if you don't turn it on, we went on vacation for a week and inserted a fresh set of batteries before we left. When we came back the sound started fading then they drained in less than 30 minutes !!
- The power switch, when in the Off position an orange section of paint strip is exposed, red and orange normally means "ON" but not in this device.
- Bass is really distorted, but what do you expect from speakers so small, treble is decent and has to be maxed out before it starts to sound tingy.
I wanted a set of iPod speakers which didn't require AC power, like these because they have decent output for something the size of a medium size cucumber. Use them all the time, you can tell when the batteries are getting low because the sound sounds notably distorted, almost like a weak radio frequency.
I'd buy them again if I had to replace it.
ac yes! dc no! [Posted on 2007-10-10] I love these speakers, loud and clear, and I got them used for $12
BUT
that's with the ac adapter.
Mine won't work on dc, they make a beeping noise both with batteries and with a car/cig adapter.
Is it me or the unit
Cheap [Posted on 2008-03-29] Although it was inexpensive, it really wasn't worth the money. It's cheap! I don't like the base, which is a piece of metal. It's not very steady and looks cheesy. Sound is not bad. I would buy this for a kid but would spend the extra money on a better one for an adult.
