Charges Zune but creates humming sound while playing [Posted on 2008-05-08]
The charger works and charges my Zune in my car. However, it creates a horrible humming sound through the speakers when I try to charge & play at the same time.
This forces me to unplug it every time I want to play, which is a major inconvenience. It is definitely on the cheap side in terms of plastics and construction - then again it really IS cheap. :)

I ordered the Zune Rapid Charger and got this waste of money. It doesn't charge my Zune and makes static interference while plugged in. You get what you pay for (in my case I didn't). Maybe it doesn't work with the 80GB version, but that doesn't really make sense!

I bought this for my 80 GB Zune and it is useless. Doesnt work at all, unless..... its supposed to not charge a Zune and make a horrible static noise through the stereo, in that case it's awesome!.
Im not sure if it is the 80GB zune that is incomaptible, but it doesn't say that so it gets 1 star. Buy a real one, its not worth the trouble, now I have to order a new one.

I bought this for my Dad so he could listen to some tunes on his boat. As you may or may not know most boats have those nifty little cigarette holes everywhere and his boat was setup with a radio that had a audio input port. We plugged the Zune in with the charger and let it do its thing and he now always has some music to blast on the open sea. NOTE: I am sure it works great in a car as well.

Same experience as other reviewers who used it with the Zune 80GB - tons of static noise that makes charging and listening at the same time unbearable. Bought it as part of the Travel Pack and it's the only one out of the 3 components that doesn't work. Bummer. I was really looking forward to never worrying about my Zune running out of juice on long road trips.
