Great keyboard for the price [Posted on 2007-11-29] The Keystation 49e was much bigger than I expected it to be, having 49 keys 4 octaves). The driver software was easy and simple to install and the keyboard itself functions easily with the included USB cable (MIDI input-output is also supported). I use the device on Reason 3.0 and have gotten great results. My only complaint would be that the advanced functions require many different key combinations (most of the keys have some sort of function when pressed together with the ADVANCED key). Thus I give it 4 stars. The price was great, too, it is probably one of the best cost-to-performance ratios in this category of products.
M-audio keystation 49e [Posted on 2007-12-08] i wish I could give you a review but I cannot get this keyboard to work.
The Perfect Midi Controller on a Budget [Posted on 2007-12-17] If you read a negative review of this product, don't be surprised to discover misspellings and grammatical errors in addition to a "it doesn't work with XP" rant...these are the markings of a stupid person who isn't exactly clear on what it is that they have bought. If, however, you know that you actually want an inexpensive midi keyboard then I would highly suggest this one.
Excellent Unit with some reservations [Posted on 2008-01-01] This unit is great. You can't beat it for the price.
I have one minor complaint, however, and that stems from the fact that the sustain peddle add-on does not appear to properly record a sustain MIDI instruction via this keyboard. That is, when one seeks to edit the sustain signal, it does not appear to be recorded properly. This inadequacy appears to be due to the keyboard.
XP doesn't always recognize, materials are CARCINOGENIC [Posted on 2008-02-08] Thankfully another reviewer brought to my attention the fact that this M-Audio keyboard is made of chemicals including lead that can cause cancer. You are actually advised to *wash your hands* after handling. Will you find the warning displayed on the box? Nope, it is at the bottom of the last page of the manual. Nice.
Add to this the problem I have with Windows XP recognizing this keyboard (have to really work at it) and this is a total piece of junk.
