I think the previous reviewer just got the wrong item cuz if you only need a keyboard cover, you can probably get it for less than $10. If you are looking for a nice protective sleeve, there are tons of them out there with cushion and pad to provide extra protection which worth $20-$35. The sleeve including in here, as the entire item's is for, is only to protect the MBP from scratch. That's it. And I think it perform well on what it supposed to do.
The handrest I think works very well too cuz the owner of MBP or powerbook should have noticed how easily the oil and dirt on your palm can transfer to the handrest area and become obveious if you don't clean them right away. Of course it's easy to get cleaned but still sometimes I found it's annoying to see it. With this protection sheet, you will never have such problem, and the sheet itself is reversible (you can peel off easily) and it won't transfer sticky stuff to the notebook itself. It won't come off easily either, at least I have used it for a while and I didn't notice anything come off from the corner yet.
Overall, I think the quality of this protection pack is very well and it does what it's supposed to do very well.

there were no other reviews that helped me when i bought this product, even the product website, so i had to buy it to see for myself. so, to help others that might be interested in this package, especially the sleeve, i have provided this fairly extensive review. so here goes...
this pack come with three items, which i will discuss.
1. KEYBOARD COVER - it is nice, soft, and fits well onto the keyboard, covering all the keys. basically, gets the job done and does it well.
2. PALM REST - at first glance, i thought it looked pretty flimsy, but after i applied it, it serves as a pretty good palm rest. feels thicker and more cushion-y than it looks. it is almost flush with the top of the trackpad button. my only small complaint is that it does not fit PERFECTLY, but it is only off by like a millimeter here and there. also, i have heard people complain about air bubbles forming here and there, but i havent had that problem yet, except for one small one that quickly goes away after pushing it down. basically, if you apply it correctly, then you shouldnt have a problem. another complaint ive heard about is that it moves around, and i must say that is certainly not the case. stays in its place very well. overall, it looks great and it feels great and is very comfy.
3. MICROFIBER SLEEVE - this is the part that makes this package a "protection pack PLUS". basically, it is "microfiber" and not neoprene. i was very pleased that the sleeve fits very snug, because it is "custom fitted" (as the people at marware say on their description of the product). personally i prefer to have a neoprene case or something with more protection, cus this sleeve is pretty thin and it has an open top. there is no zipper. i would recommend using this only if you a) only want protection from scratches, and not dings or drops; b) if you have another case or backpack that provides better protection.
i recommend the case that i currently use, which is the "STM Glove". it is a very snug, minimalistic, black, top loading (rather than side loading), neoprene case that perfectly fits my needs. it is much better than this sleeve and that other Tucano/second skin sleeve (cus that one is very loose).
when i bought this package recently on amazon it cost $26, so i feel that it was worth the extra $7 to get the sleeve, over the normal "protection pack". but at full price or even at the price listed now, i would just stick with the normal "protection pack" without the sleeve and buy a better sleeve instead.
i gave this 4 stars, cus of the sleeve.
also, i emailed Marware about the case, and they promptly emailed me back with good answers to my questions. so props to Marware for excellent products and service!!

I've owned 3 Apple laptops - a Titanium Powerbook, an Aluminum Powerbook, and a MacBook Pro. Both Powerbooks had the paint on the palmrests deteriorate in a strange manner - tiny black dots of the case would show through. This product - the Marware Protection Pack Plus - has a palm-rest cover that roughly approximates the same color of the laptop - it adheres easily, and feels very comfortable under my palms. The palm-rest concealed the paint deterioration and improved the aesthetic appearance of the entire laptop. It was very helpful!
The Protection Pack also includes a keyboard cover to prevent dust from between and beneath the keys from coming out while the laptop is closed, and fusing itself to the screen - a problem most noticed with the Titanium Powerbook. The keyboard cover is easily the best item in the pack.
The Protection Pack PLUS includes the sleeve, which is really sort of a waste. It's difficult to get on the laptop - it's very snug, and made from a fabric with no give - and once on, offers minimal protection (if you drop the laptop, there's no cushioning really). I suppose that the sleeve protects the laptop from spills - at least somewhat - but I can't see it serving as much of a means of actual protection from things that matter.
The Protection Pack is a much wiser investment that the Protection Pack Plus. I would even go so far as to say that the keyboard cover is the most valuable component of the lot - I'm saving the palmrest cover until something makes me use it.

The microfibre sleeve offers no protection except mabey from rubbing!?
The wrist rest has no cutouts for the small rubber protectors on the edges of the screen, I had to try to cut my own otherwise the laptop wouldn't close properly. Now it looks awful.
The microfibre keyboard protector has thick stitching around the perimeter which also inhibit closing.
They obviously never actually tested this product on a MacBook Pro.

(+) fit well & color-matched to your macbook pro
(+) wrist rest provides wear&tear protection
(+) keyboard cover is helpful with minimizing oil print on the screen & can be used for wiping screen, though should be careful.
(-) sleeve too thin, not much protection for any sort of bumping.
(-) i would rather have a silicone keyboard cover (for water damage) instead of the microfiber cover. oil print is a non-issue for me. water damage, on the other hand . . . .
