Customer Reviews:

You can't beat the price [Posted on 2007-12-07]
The headphones rock because: The bass response is nice and heavy. The aluminum ear pieces are rugged. It comes with some adapters and a nice extension. The ear adapters seem to fit my ears pretty well and do block out most ambient sound.

They suck because: The extra weight of the metal earpieces make them slightly more likely to wiggle out of your ear. While the bass response is good, it may be slightly too heavy. The adapter are great but they left out a 1/8 to 1/4 inch adapter... why would you leave that one out? isn't it the most useful adapter out there (odd choice). I worry that the cable will fray or wear where it exits the ear buds. A enforced cable coming out of the ear buds would have been a smart move.

If you like your music bass heavy and you don't intend to exercise with these, you've got the right pair.

headphones for phones [Posted on 2008-01-21]
The 2.5 adapter does not work for phones (LG enV) which I didn't realize when I bought it. I had to go to Radio Shack and get a 2.5 mobile phone adapter (looks similar but has 4 connections - gnd, stereo, mic) to the tune of $10. I'd have thought the mfg would have taken that into consideration. On the other hand these are very good headphones. My only concern is that they are too efficient. I have to set the phone MP3 volume to the minimum (& I've got old ears!) I can't imagine a young person cranking these up; it will ruin their hearing.

Adapters, Extension Cable, Carrying Case [Posted on 2008-03-06]
It is hard to quantify the value of sound quality. I used Shure E2c-n for more than a year, and Etymotic ER-4S for several years. The latter are about as good at sound reproduction as anything I have ever heard (eg Sennheiser HD650), and to me the E2c-n are at least in the ballpark. If I figure 200USD for close to perfect sound, 75USD for something almost as good, what should I expect for 25USD? Something that sounds better than a mobile phone? Better than the speakers in a laptop computer? If so, I think the Maximo iM-390 are not even close to worth it. The reason I give them 2 stars instead of 1 is they come with decent adapters, extension cable and carrying case. For somebody who spends 200USD or more fpr a music player and the music on it, I think it is probably worth paying the extra 50USD to get something like the E2c-n. It rocks! Highly recommended for replacing iPod's earbuds [Posted on 2008-04-08]
I don't like the earbuds came with my iPod - they are so easy to fall off! I'm not very good at telling difference in the frequency etc. I can tell for the sound quality Maximo is no less than Apple's at least. It may be hard for me to say which one is more stylish...it depends. I feel sorry that I lost my original iPod earbuds from Apple but very happy to have something better with a low price - at least they don't fall off my ears!

Decent for the price [Posted on 2008-04-25]
A friend had bought them, so I liked what I saw and heard and needless to say got a pair a week later.
They are nice, because the headphones act as earplugs, thus eliminating interfering outside noise. I use them with 30G iPod and I have to say that even with the EQ options that the iPod provides, I cannot get decent high frequencies. They are sort of muffled. The lows are killer, however! If I set the EQ to "Treble Booster", then there's too much highs and not enough bottom end.
Bottom line: these headphones are much better than the more expensive iPod replacement headphones and they come with a case and a bunch of audio adapters (which is cool, but should not be a buying factor!). Get them and use them until you are ready to step up a level and get a better pair.
